After her attempt of talking to Shadow, Rouge walked outside and flew on top of the roof of the house. The view from there was beautiful. The full moon was big and bright, and the stars filling the sky were as countless as grains of sand on a beach. As much as Rouge wished she could enjoy this view, she couldn't get herself to. She was feeling terrible. Just the fact that her best friend was drowning in despair, made her heart ache for him. She felt terrible about yelling at him earlier, but how else would he have listened? Rouge sighed as she stared into the sky, looking at each of the glistening stars. Much to her surprise, a quick, white light then sped across the sky, and without hesitation, she clasped her hands together and closed her eyes. "Please", she wished to the shooting star. "Please help me be able to make Shadow feel better. There's nothing more that I want in this world than to see the smile on his face again. I'm not sure how it will happen, or when, but seeing Shadow feeling better would mean everything to me." Rouge ended her wish with a slight smile, and she hoped with all of her might that it'd come true. "I think I know a way how we can make Shadow happy again", said a voice, as if Rouge's wish had already been answered. She turned around to see Shadow's mother, Vanilla the Rabbit, standing on the roof and smiling at her. Rouge stood up and turned around, forcing a smile. "Hi, Miss Rabbit", she addressed Vanilla. "So, you heard my wish?" Rouge felt her cheeks burning due to that statement. She didn't want anyone knowing how much she truly cared for Shadow. But, much to her relief, Vanilla just giggled. "I heard a little bit of it", she said with a smile. "Why don't you come on in? I can tell you all about a plan I have for tomorrow, and I'm hoping it will help Shadow feel better." Rouge clapped her hands and smiled. She was hopefully going to see Shadow's happiness at last. She turned back to the stars with a glimmer of hope in her eyes. "Thank you", she whispered to the sky, and then proceeded to follow Vanilla into the house.
