Tate-
Ignoring Jack, who was currently kissing my neck, I responded to Ridge, turning on my speaker. "Because, that engagement party wasn't official , this one is,"
On the other side of the phone, the youngest Monroe groaned. "But why in Florida? Why can't you do it in good old Cali?"
"Because we need a change of scenery, and we like it here," I insist, frowning, once again batting my fiance away. "You're coming Ridge,"
I hear Ridge chuckle. "Oh, I'm fine with it, but..."
"I'm NOT wearing a dress, Tate,"
Jack and I both nearly drop our coffee mugs as we exchange glances. What's North doing with Ridge? They're supposed to hate each other.
We hadn't seen them in forever, it had been nearly two months since we decided to come here to set everything up for the engagement party, which we wanted in Florida, although I had insisted that it was too much of a hassle. Of course, Jack couldn't see why, considering his family owned a private jet.
"So when... are you guys coming? The whole family is here, Ridge, you and er...North are the only ones not here yet,"
"Two, maybe three days," North replied nonchalantly. I wanted to ask why she was around Ridge and hadn't yet killed him but couldn't find a right way to say it.
"Anyway we--" I start saying but a knock at the hotel door interrupts me. I adjust my shirt, which had slipped down as Jack's lips had begun descending. I glared at him while he grinned before he called out for the person to come in.
The receptionist from downstairs stepped inside and I stood up. "Hi! Can we help you,"
He smiles pleasantly. "You have visitors ma'am, they wanted me to let you know instead of coming up here themselves,"
I frown to Jack, who shrugs. "Shall we?" he says, wiggling his eyebrows.
I snort, grabbing his hand and yanking him outside.
I freeze as I get to the lobby. Cayne's at the buffet, getting breakfast, completely normal since he was one of the first people to come down here. "Oh, hey guys," he says, grinning.
I can't answer, and for that matter, neither can Jack, as we both stare at North who's in a heated discussion with Ridge, and the fact that makes the world itself falter, is that North is on Ridge's lap like it's the most natural thing in the world.
"Babe, think it's a mirage?" Jack says, scrunching his nose adorably.
"But we're both seeing it," I say faintly.
"Maybe it's like--a linked mirage, you know, because we're mates and all,"
"Baby, you're stories are getting to your head,"
"Maybe it's a North clone,"
I scoff. "That's my friend, not a look-like, I know how North looks like, that's probably a Ridge clone,"
Now it's Jack's turn to scoff. "I know how my brother looks like,"
Cayne walks over to us. "What are you both on about?" He says, stabbing at his pancakes.
"Hey, Cayne, do you see it too?" Jack says, yanking him to our side. Cayne frowns. "What the hell are you talking about?"
"She is sitting on his lap, hey is she doing it by choice?"

Hombres LoboRidge Monroe is an asshole. That sentence can and will probably be on the lips of every girl in Cali. Either for being ditched after giving him head or for not being called back after a drunken fuck. That's just because Ridge functioned that way...
