Chapter Fifty-Three: Break Now

Ridge-

I'm in love with her.

But I'm also so very done with her.

North-

I scream, sinking my nails into his arm so hard he has to let go. He does and I start to run, but before I can get away, I trip and I fall again.

"No!" I shake my head. "I won't,"

"Tsk, tsk," He says. "Take her to the big guy, he'll know what to do with her,"

"Are you sure-- you know he doesn't like being bothered--"

"Hank! Fucking do what I say!" The first guy roars and I'm jerked up and taken into a dark office. With maroon polishes furniture.

"Miss Jacobs, a fiesty one, aren't you?"

"You!" I scream, my eyes widening.

Where have I seen him before? His fucking face is as familiar as Hurricane Irma is destructive.

"Now, you're going to tell him that you found important news about us and he needs to come here immediately,"

Ridge-

My phone rings. I click accept, avoiding my notifications. Two months get you a lot of messages.

"Who is this?"

"Ridge," someone starts calmly. My blood turns cold and I nearly hang up and then she screams.

"DON'T FUCKING COME HERE! NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO!" She shouts, and follows that a sound of cracking and then a cry of pain.

"Now," says a silky smooth yet deep voice. "Your girlfriend here said the wrong thing, but you could still save her, Two million dollars and your ass over here. Now,"

The line going silent. Two messages are sent to me seconds later. One with an address and the other is a bank account.

I sink to the ground. Where the fuck was I going to get two million dollars.

Okay, I needed to get to dad, the amount itself was easy enough for him to get, but the reason...what was I going to tell him?

I close my eyes, as a bitter laugh finds its way to my throat. Because as much as I try shielding myself from this girl, however I try to isolate myself from her, to find my way out of the spell she has on me, she always finds her way into my heart again.
