As we stepped into the cave my eyes adjusted to the darkness. Once I could finally see I couldn't believe my eyes. The cave was huge. Near the back there was a flat rock big enough for an elephant to sleep on, and the whole room was easily 90 feet tall.

"Whoa, this is huge."

"Ha I know right! This is where we sleep. A little crowded a night, but otherwise pretty comfortable."

Simba bounded over to the rock and laid down.

"I'm surprised that that's even comfortable to sleep on. I would be in so much pain when I wake up," I winced.

"Eh, it's kinda stiff."

"So Michelle, what did you want to know," Mufasa asked.

"Ok you might think I'm crazy but I'm not a lion, I'm a human!"

They looked at each other and burst out laughing.

"What's so funny," I growled.

"You're a human," Simba snickered, "there's no way. Humans don't even live near here, not for years, at least that's what my dad has told me."

"Haha, I'm sorry Michelle but Simba is right. Its not possible, you're a lion cub," Mufasa informed.

"But you guys don't understand. I went to sleep in my bed thousands of miles from Africa, as a human."

"Michelle, I think you've been in the sun too long," Simba said.

I growled and walked outside.

"Michelle, wait! Come on, we were just messing with ya," Simba yelled running after me.

I sat down at the tip of Pride Rock. Why won't they take me seriously, I thought.

"Michelle? Are you ok."

"What do you think, Simba?"

"Um..."

"Ugh, never mind."

"Uh, ok, well, why don't we go see my friends," he offered.

I nodded and we walked towards the forest. But instead of a walk way like Simba told me there was a giant rock in the way.

"Um, Simba, this isn't a walk way, it's a rock."

He smirked and walked up to the rock.

"Ok that rock is five times your size there is no chance you can-"

He pushed the rock out of the way and stood with pride.

"-move it," I said mystified.

"After you, miss," he joked.

I walked to the trees and whacked Simba with my tail.

"Hey! I'm gonna get you!"

I screamed and ran down the path. He chased me through the jungle and finally caught me, literally. We tumbled for a few feet and then he pinned me down.

"Pinned ya," he laughed.

"That's not fair, I'm smaller than you, and I'm a girl."

"It's perfectly fair."

"He has a point you know."

I looked behind me and saw a meerkat and a fat warthog.

"Timon, Pumbaa, I didn't even hear you come near," Simba exclaimed.

"We were sneaking up on a beetle, but someone lost it," Timon said pointing down at Pumbaa.

"Hey, it wasn't my fault," Pumbaa complained.

"Hey Simba, who's the kitten," Timon mocked.

Simba got off me and I growled at Timon.

"Who are you calling 'kitten', meerkat," I snarled.

"Ooh kitty's got claws."

"Yea kitty knows how to use her claws," I said lunging at Timon.

"Yo, Simba you gonna let your girlfriend do this to me?"

"She- she isn't my girlfriend, Timon. And yea I'll let her do that. You did call her a kitty."

"What if I said I was joking," he chuckled nervously.

"Oh don't worry, you're too small to eat. I like things that actually have meat on their bones."

"I resent that comment."

"I do too," Pumbaa whimpered, "especially since I'm fat."

"I wouldn't eat you Pumbaa, you guys aren't on my menu anyway."

I turned and saw Simba trying to hold in his laugh but he burst out laughing.

"Simba, this cub is tough, it's a good thing she's your friend," Pumbaa said.

"I'm gonna take that as a compliment. Pumbaa."

"Well it was a compliment."

I walked back over to Simba, and if I was still human my arms would have been crossed. Instead I scraped the ground with my claws.

"You're gonna get used to them, trust me," Simba assured.

"Hey anyone up for some swimming," Pumbaa asked.

Simba nudged me and ran away. I ran after him, but then he disappeared.

"Simba where-"

I didn't even ask my question when Simba came out of the brush and tackled me, again!

"Pinned ya again," he boasted.

Then before he knew it I flipped him off of me and pinned him down.

"Meow!"

"Hahaha! Nothing to say tough guy?"

I got off and he splashed me with puddle water. He stuck his tongue out at me and I did the same.

"C'mon love birds, the pool is right up here," Timon said.

I felt my face grow hot, I turned and saw Simba blushing too. Jeez what have I gotten myself into, I thought to myself.
