Chapter Sixteen- Hide the Tears

I walked into the house around eleven at night.

All the lights in the house were out, I was thankful for that too. The last thing I needed at this moment is to be interrogated.

I flicked on the lights so I could put my shoes away, and guess what? There was Aiden, sitting in an armchair beside the door, glaring at me.

"I understand you don't want to be here! And that you don't like me but believe it or not I love you! You are my first, my baby girl and it really worries me when you do this! I was wo-" he stopped looking at me.

My eyes were red from crying, my makeup was smeared on my face, and my hair was a mess from tugging on it in stress.

"Baby what's wrong?" He asked me.

Tears welled in my eyes and I struggled to keep them in, I just shook my head.

Aiden sighed and wrapped his arms around me, I struggled and pushed on him, not wanting him to hold me, knowing I would just break down if I let him hold me.

I pounded on his chest, "Let me go!" I yelled, sobbing.

"Shhhhh it's okay baby. Everything is gonna be okay." He said holding me tighter.

I stopped fighting and cried into his chest as he stroked my hair and whispered how much he loved me in my ear.

"What's wrong?" he said pulling away and looking at me.

I shook my head again and shoved him away. "You wouldn't understand!" I cried.

"I can't if you don't tell me....I can't make it better if I don't know what's going on" he said calmly.

"NO!!! You cant make it better! None of this would have happened if it weren't for you! You just had to leave! And because you left you caused this! If you were there you could have fixed it! But you left!! And that is something I can never forgive you for." I said and ran up to my room.

Aiden ran after me but I was faster, I shut the door in his face and locked it.

I slid down the door and cried in my hands, why did all this have to happen to me?

I woke to Aiden picking me up off my floor.

I groaned, "Shh baby, daddy's here." he whispered and sat on my bed with me in his arms. He pulled the blankets over me and tucked me.

"Are you going to stay in here with me tonight?" I asked.

"I will be here as long as you need me." he said holding me tight.

I nodded and sniffled, Aiden whipped away my tears and smoothed down my hair.

I woke in the bed still laying on Aiden, he looked down at me, "Good morning." he said.

I nodded and looked to my alarm clock, it blinked 10:53.

I gasped and jumped out of bed. "I'm late! Why didn't you wake me up!"

"I thought you could use the rest.....and you were sleeping so peacefully...I didn't want to wake you." he said and yawned.

I looked at him skeptically, he had huge bags under his eyes and his clothes were all wrinkly, still in his jeans and tee from the day before. "Did....you stay awake all night?"

He nodded, "didn't want to fall asleep just in case you woke up and you needed me."

"oh......well I'm gonna' go take a shower and go to school..." I said awkwardly.

"You don't have to...I mean go to school. I understand if you need to stay home and take a break." he said.

"Mom never got to 'stay home and take a break' " I snapped.
