Stop ignoring it
Hermione shot up. She had a dream where she was fighting against Harry. She should have been horrified but instead she felt electrified. That feeling was back. It felt like it was trying to take over, find a way inside and ever since she learned about Cynthia Riddle it had increased.
Hermione had read the daily profit, sat once again away from Harry and her old friends. She watched as Draco walked over and threatened Harry, she couldn't stop herself from giggling as he pulled Harry across the table. She followed Draco out the hall and Pansy linked their arms together when she saw Hermione, and they walked alongside Draco and Blaise.
She heard people whispering as Draco smiled at her and soon rumours that Hermione was dating Draco floated around. The Gryffindor's would give Hermione dirty looks but they flat out glared at Harry and that. It seems being the son of people who kidnapped a five year old girl meant being shunned by Hogwarts. Hermione looked around the dorm room, everyone was fast asleep leaving Hermione to her thoughts.
She stood up and looked out the window, the moons rays illuminating her face.
Embrace me
The voice whispered, it sounded like hers but colder. Her veins hummed and Hermione watched as the veins in her hands turned black.
This is who you are
The veins faded and Hermione looked out the window. "What do you want?" She whispered as the answer would just appear.
Find out
Hermione stayed quiet her mind seemed to fall silent. 'What must I do?'
Maybe she was ill? Could she have been hit by a curse she wasn't aware of?
Its not a curse silly girl
Maybe she could find a book in the library. She could ask Draco but she doubted he knew and besides they weren't that close.
You and Draco are much closer than you think
"I'm going crazy." Hermione watched as figures moved along the tree line of the forbidden forest, no doubt some of the forest inhabitants. She gripped her necklace, she found it comforting. The necklace pulsed softly in her palm, something it had always done. She watched as the moon dipped lower in the sky as the sun began to rise slowly. After what felt like minutes but what was really hours the sun had risen and so had her dorm mates.
"Hermione are you OK?" Lavender broke the silence and Hermione turned around "Yes sorry Lavender I was just lost in thought." Hermione assured the girl who smiled softly. "OK well breakfast starts soon so you may want to start getting ready." Lavender walked into the adjoined bathroom and soon sound of the shower filled the dorm as the other girls began to get ready.
Hermione walked over to her trunk and pulled out her uniform before walking into the bathroom to brush her teeth and somehow tame her hair. When she managed to get her hair to fall in soft curls instead of its usual frizz she dressed and exited the dorm. She entered the common room to see Harry and Neville standing by the fire looking upset.
Neville noticed her smiled but Harry just ignored her. "Morning Mione." Neville greeted and Hermione smiled. "Good morning Neville how are you feeling?" "I'm OK just still in shock." Hermione nodded and soon walked out the tower to see Draco waiting by the portrait. "Good morning Draco!" Hermione greeted happily and Draco smiled. "Good morning Mione I thought you might like to sit with me and Pansy at breakfast?"
Hermione smiled "I'd like that." Together they walked to the great hall in a comforting silence as other students smiled and greeted them on their way there. They arrived at the hall to see a shocking sight. The Gryffindor table was almost empty. The other Gryffindor's were sat at different tables and some were even joking with some of the Slytherin's. It seems that a riff was beginning to heal between the two houses.
"Draco! Mione!" Pansy shouted from her seat at the Slytherin table and the two made their way over, sitting down across from her. Another Gryffindor sat down next to Hermione and began talking to Marcus Flint. "Its mad, good but mad!" Pansy exclaimed and Hermione laughed softly. "It is but maybe Hogwarts will become even better now!" However it seemed Hermione had spoken too soon.
Dumbledore walked into the hall followed by Harry, Ron and Ginny causing the hall to fall silent. "Will all the houses sit at their allocated tables." Dumbledore announced but no one moved. "NOW!" He shouted the hall darkening for a second. Slowly the Gryffindor's walked back to their table and Hermione smiled sadly before sitting next to Neville who smiled gratefully at her.
"Now you have all no doubt read the Daily Profit and I can tell you all firmly that it is all fake. It seems Lord Voldemort has managed to infiltrate the ministry and turned us all against each other!! How can we stand against darkness and oppression if we can't even stand with each other?"
The hall was so quiet you could've heard a pin drop. "Then why is there so much evidence against you?? My mother was at your trial and she told me everything!" Susan Bones stood up and everyone nodded. It was well known her mother was a very respectable member of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.
Draco was enraged, how dare Dumbledore try to make himself look like the victim?! He stood up and the entire hall turned to face him. "So you are saying that the Veritaserum I took didn't work? Are you saying the memory I gave that was cleared of any and all form of temperament was fake!! Bring me a pensive and I'll show everyone how much of a liar you are!" Draco glared at Dumbledore and Dumbledore smiled.
"Draco you memory is probably fake and constructed by Voldemort himself!" He exclaimed in fake pity causing Draco to laugh "So if I was to ask the ministry when they arrive if my memory was fake they would say it is?" Draco smiled as Dumbledore glared at him.
"The ministry has been taken over!" He exclaimed. Everyone was so busy staring at Draco and Dumbledore that they didn't notice the group of people walk in. "Is that so?" A males voice asked and the entire hall turned to see Tom Riddle stood at the doors along with Bellatrix, Narcissa, Lucius, Amelia Bones, Rosalie and the Minister
