Draco sat with his legs hanging off the edge of the tower, his head rested on the metal bars as he cried. He was devastated even if logically he knew it wasn’t Cynthia’s fault. He wasn’t blind either; he had seen the looks Cynthia had given Killian, the ones of lust and understanding. He didn’t mind, he knew the love they shared was more powerful than some shared lust. Until tonight when he watched Cynthia and Killian kiss, lost in their mutual lust until he and Valkyrie stormed out with shattered hearts.

Footsteps approached and a soft hand rested on his shoulder causing him to look back to see Valkyrie’s own tear stained face. “Come on.” Valkyrie whispered, holding out her other hand. Draco took it and Valkyrie led him to her office indicating for him to sit in a comfortable armchair that sat in the corner. She had redecorated the office, the huge desk sat in the center with a comfortable chair in front. On the left side were several comfortable armchairs sat around a warm fireplace with a coffee table that had a range of decanters filled with a multitude of alcohol. Above the fireplace was a collection of past Hogwarts headmasters portraits. On the right was a collection of massive floor to ceiling bookcases filled to brim with tomes and scrolls depicting multiple styles of magic from advanced transfiguration to battle magics. The whole back wall was a huge window showing the grounds and courtyard of the school.

Valkyrie sighed conjuring two glasses, she poured two fingers of firewhiskey in both before giving one to Draco. “Drink you look like you need it.” She muttered before sitting down across from him, the fire dancing across her face and scar. Draco quickly drained the glass before setting it down on the table with a sigh. The two sat in silence taking quiet comfort in each other's misery. “I’m so sorry.” Draco muttered and Valkyrie shook her head “What for? You didn’t do anything.” Valkyrie replied. “I should've. I noticed before the little looks they shared but… I thought my love for Cynthia was enough.” Draco replied and Valkyrie released a bitter laugh. “I did as well but just like you I thought Killian loved me enough that it wouldn’t matter. At least you can take comfort in the fact that Cynthia wasn’t in control, it was her blood curse that did it.”

Draco laughed, shaking his head. “So everytime that her curse takes over I’m supposed to ignore how she lusts after others? I’m meant to sit on the sidelines until she gains control again?” Valkyrie stared Draco in the eyes and frowned “That's up to you. Is Cynthia’s love worth the potential pain?” Draco sat in silence thinking his mind whirling like a kaleidoscope. Was Cynthia’s love worth watching as she kissed other men when her other part took over? Could he truly still love her knowing that part of her hated him?

“I don’t know.” Draco replied and Valkyrie smiled sadly “You don’t have to decide now. You need time to process and think about what's happened.” Draco sighed, grabbing some more firewhiskey taking comfort in the burn that filled his throat and stomach. “That’s enough I don’t want to get in trouble for letting my student get drunk.” Draco nodded setting down the now empty glass. “What are you going to do about Killian?” Draco asked and Valkyrie bit her lip playing with her engagement ring. “I don’t know. We’ve been together for so long I don’t know who I would be without him. But at the same time I don’t know how to forgive him at least Cynthia wasn’t in control of her actions.” Valkyrie began crying again, her mind replaying the kiss over and over again.

Draco smiled at Valkyrie sadly “I think you need to do some thinking yourself before you decide anything. We both have a lot of pain to process.” Valkyrie laughed at Draco’s words, a small genuine smile dancing across her face. “Look at you giving me back my own advice.” Draco shrugged. “It was good advice.” He admitted. The two sat in silence once again watching as the light dimmed from outside until just the fire illuminated the room, the tears had finally stopped falling down Valkyrie's face after an hour but neither she nor Draco took notice. A knock sounded startling the two as Severus Snape walked in sighing in relief when he saw Draco.

“Come on Mr Malfoy time to get back to your dorm.” Severus gently took Draco’s forearm pulling the red eyed boy upwards. With a soft smile to Valkyrie he led the boy through the halls back into the Slytherin common room where Blaise and Pansy sat anxiously. Pansy jumped up hugging Draco in relief, smiling when her friend hugged her back. Draco buried his head into her shoulder, her scent of lavender and honey calmed him down. Pansy was the fourth person he loved most in the world after his parents and Cynthia, she was his sister in everything but blood just as Blaise was his brother. Blaise pulled the two into his chest and Severus quietly left seeing that Draco was in good hands.

Cynthia blinked her eyes dimming back into brown as she looked around confused at the looks being sent at her. Pansy glared at her before storming out Blaise following after the brown haired Slytherin along with Neville who gave Cynthia a sad smile. The teachers all slowly left looking at Cynthia with fear and pity causing her to frown confused. She turned to Harry only to flinch at the anger swirling in his emerald eyes. “How could you?” Harry demanded his voice filled with rage. “What?” Cynthia muttered in confusion as Harry quickly stood up, his chair falling backwards. “HOW COULD YOU NOT TELL ME MY DAD AND SIRIUS WAS ALIVE!?” Harry roared.

Cynthia recoiled at Harry’s rage, understanding filling her eyes. “I was scared.” She muttered sadly beging Harry with her eyes to understand. “Scared of what?” Harry demanded and Cynthia cried “Of losing you!  I’m scared to lose you again.” Harry frowned “How would you lose me?” Cynthia sighed looking down at her hands as she twisted them. “Because until now you always took Ron’s side. Because until now I always felt like you just used me for my brain, like that's all I had to offer. I was scared that if I told you, you wouldn’t believe me and you would leave me alone again.” She explained.

Harry quickly calmed down, guilt hitting him like a tsunami. It was true that he always took Ron’s side no matter what because Ron was the first friend he had ever made causing Harry to place him on a pedestal. While he had never once believed that all Cynthia was, was a walking brain to pick he could see why she would believe that was all he thought of her because that's how Ron always saw her. Harry gently held Cynthia’s hand and sighed sadly. “Cynthia you know I love you like a sister and I’m so sorry for how I treated you in the past. I wish I could go back in time and slap some sense into myself. I understand.” Harry comforted and Cynthia looked up to see Harry was smiling at her while Luna watched on with pride at how much her boyfriend had matured.

“Where's Draco?” Cynthia asked, noticing her platinum haired boyfriend was missing. Harry sighed looking at Luna for help. Luna quickly stood up and sat on Cynthia’s bed taking Cynthia’s spare hand in hers. Gently she told Cynthia everything they had learned but hesitated when she reached the part of Killian and her kissing. Harry noticed his girlfriend's discomfort and finished retelling the day's earlier events. “You and Killian kissed… and it was quite passionate. Draco and Valkyrie stormed out followed by Killian before you came back to yourself.” Harry explained.

“No… No I’d never… I’d never cheat on Draco.” Cynthia muttered to herself in disbelief. “I love him too much to ever do that.” Luna sighed sadly “It wasn’t you Cynthia but it happened.” She gently reassured the girl who instantly started sobbing. “No… No… NO! NO I WOULDN’T!” Cynthia cried as she began sobbing, shaking her head in denial. Luna quickly pulled the distraught girl into a hug Harry quickly followed pulling the two most important women in his life into his chest. Cynthia sobbed in their arms until she fell asleep, emotionally exhausted. Harry and Luna gently laid the girl back down, sharing concerned glances, not knowing how they were supposed to help their bestfriend/sister.
