There is no good or evil there is only power.

Power corrupts even the purest of men, men with good intentions who become twisted in powers clutches

We have no power... Power has us

Light and dark, two opposite ends of a large spectrum of colours... Which ones yours??

"YOU THINK YOU CAN WIN!? JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE GOOD THAT NEVER MEANS VICTORY THE WORLD RUNS ON POWER! POWER IS THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS. WHEN ALL OF THIS IS OVER ONLY THE POWERFUL WILL BE LEFT!"

Whispers. That's all Harry heard when he dreamed. They whispered to him, their words intoxicating. He tried to shake them off but deep down he knew they were right.... Power was what governed the world. Power was why Dumbledore was respected, power was why Tom Riddle is feared. Power is why Fudge was in power, power is why the Malfoy family was so influential. Power was why Hermione was such a brilliant witch... Power was why he was still alive.

Power is the only thing that matters.

The voices in dream were right but Harry couldn't bring himself to admit that out loud. Harry sat up noticing that Ron's bed was empty. Dawn was breaking as a soft orange glow illuminated the room. Harry stood up and walked over to the bathroom only to hear harsh whispers coming from the hallway. He crept to the door as a female voice hissed "You are a fool!"

"Really Ginny because you did the same!" A males voice replied "Only because you said he wouldn't catch on Ron!" Ginny replied. "Look Ginny what's done is done!" "Ron we needed him to be our friend to keep him on Dumbledore's side... I could've been the future Mrs Potter!" Ginny cried and Harry had to resist laughing. Even before finding out that Ron and Ginny had been selling some of his secrets to the tabloids he still wouldn't have married Ginny.... She was far too annoying.

"Look we win him back over its simple! Dumbledore will have his hero, you will have your future husband and I'll continue making more money from him!" Ron explained and this time Harry couldn't help but laugh. He began laughing hysterically at Ron's stupid plan. "Who's there!?" Ron demanded as footsteps walked towards Harry "Show yourself!" Ginny demanded. Harry walked over to them "You... Guys... Are... Insane!" He gasped between laughter. "I... Was... Never... Gonna... Marry... You!" He wheezed.

Ginny suddenly turned red, whether it was from anger or embarrassment he didn't know. "You guys really do crack me up." Harry smirked watching Ron's face fall. "Did you honestly think I would be your friend after selling me out?" Both Ron and Ginny remained silent, clearly both of them were angry and disappointed that their plan didn't work. "Honestly did you think your 'plan' was going to work? You both must be dumber than I though." Harry turned around to go back to his dorm when Ron let out an angry cry pointing his wand at Harry.

"Enough of this Obli-" " Stupify!" Hermione quickly blasted Ron back. She had heard the commotion and came just in time. Harry stood their in shock as Ron shot backwards into the wall, he slumped to the ground unconscious. "Why how dare you! Redu-" " EXPELIARMUS!" Neville disarmed Ginny as he stood next to Hermione.

Ginny stared at Neville before running over to see if Ron was OK. "Thanks Hermione, Neville." Harry smiled at his friends. "Your welcome Harry." Neville was grinning like mad. Not only had he successful disarmed someone but he managed to save Hermione from being hurt. Harry turned to Ginny who was glaring at them while tending to Ron. "Don't ever talk or even look at me again." Harry told her before walking off with Neville back to their dorm. When they entered they noticed that Dean and Seamus were awake and begining to change into their robes.

Harry quickly undressed and sighed. "It'll be OK Harry." Neville smiled as Dean raised an eyebrow. "What happened??" Harry quickly recounted what had happened and Seamus began laughing loudly. "Serves the git right! Bloody arsehole." Dean just smiled "You have us Harry." He assured and Harry nodded. "Yeah I do."

Harry sat down at the Gryffindor table with Neville, Seamus and Dean. They were all laughing when Hermione sat down with them. "Thank you Hermione for earlier." "It was nothing besides it felt good to put Ron in his place." Seamus nodded "Man I wish I saw that. Maybe you could give us a reenactment." He joked and Hermione giggled. "Yeah maybe."

Harry watched as Hermione smiled and laughed. Merlin she was beautiful, the way her eyes would light up, the way her soft curls framed her face. The way her eyes scrunched up when she smiled and how perfect her laugh was. She was bewitching and Harry wanted nothing more than to call Hermione his.

But then the dream was shattered when Draco Malfoy sat down next to her. "Morning Mione, morning Nev." He greeted as be filled up a goblet with orange juice. "Merlin is Draco Malfoy the Prince of Slytherin sitting with us Gryffindor's. Should we be humbled?" Hermione joked. "Yes very." Draco teased "Well then consider us humbled oh ferret." Neville joked causing Hermione to laugh and Draco to scowl "Don't call me ferret." He playfully scolded.

Harry noticed Seamus and Dean looking shocked as they stared at Draco. "So Harry I heard two certain weasels gave you some trouble." Draco turned to Harry who nodded. "Yes but Hermione and Neville managed to save me. I left my wand in my dorm so I'm lucky that I have them." Harry informed him. Draco smiled "Well I'm glad your OK Harry." By this point Dean and Seamus's jaws had almost hit the floor. It was common knowledge that Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy were rivals and yet they were sat down talking as if they were.... Friends.

Hermione watched with a smile her best friends were getting along and it made her happy. Neville caught Hermione's eye and he grinned. Neville had instantly struck up a friendship with Draco, Pansy and Blaise. He found once you got past the whole everyone in Slytherin is evil thing was that they were funny, loyal and fiercely protective of their friends. Everything seemed to be falling into place. And then a stranger walked into the hall with a huge scar running down her face.
