Light and dark. It seems simple yet lines blur, grey patches appear in what should be black and white. Is doing bad things but for the greater good, still good? Is it as simple as right and wrong Harry had always though it was just good and evil, that you were one or the other. Now he wasn't so sure. He hated Tom Riddle that would never change but Dumbledore had lied to him. He had twisted things around, making everything seem so simple.
But now that Harry thought about it Dumbledore had basically thrown him into the deep end of a swimming pool, knowing Harry couldn't swim. Dumbledore knew that the Dursleys were abusing him yet he did absolutely nothing to help. McGonagall was almost as bad, doing everything Dumbledore asked.
Hermione had warned him before about Dumbledore but he ignored her. And in the end after the Weasley's, no doubt Dumbledore had told them to, got into his head and twisted it against Hermione. But why? Hermione had saved his life countless times, she helped him, stayed by his side yet he tossed her aside.
Harry now realised what a mistake that was on his part. Hermione was his only true friend, it seemed Ron was only using him for good publicity, and he had treated her like she was some shit at the bottom of his shoe. Harry had been upset when he heard Ron and Ginny were using him and his reputation in the hopes of making some money of it. They had however failed.
Hermione on the other hand never did. She loathed the media with all its lies and cover ups, she never once accepted an interview. Why would she?? She didn't want any sort of fame or recognition for doing nothing. Harry sat alone in the great hall watching as Neville walked in with Hermione. Her eyes were sparkling as she laughed, her head thrown back as her soft caramel curls framed her face.
Harry wasn't sure when he slowly began to see Hermione in a romantic way but seeing her laugh and smile.... That helped him come to realisation. He loved Hermione Granger and he wanted nothing more than to run over to her and beg for forgiveness. He watched as Hermione smiled at Neville as she spoke. He couldn't hear nor make out the words but she looked beautiful. Her soft, full lips moving almost tantalising slow to Harry. When Hermione's eyes flicked to him, his heart seemed to skip a beat.
But he soon felt it break as Hermione glared at him her eyes filled with anger and sadness. He had made Hermione sad and Harry hated himself for it. He watched as Neville nodded and together they walked past Harry to sit with Draco Malfoy at the Slytherin table. He couldn't hear what was being said but he made out Hermione's twinkling laugh. His heart filled with joy, she was happy and that was all he cared about. He watched as Dean Thomas sat across from him and smiled.
"You love her don't you?" He inquired. "Who?" Harry pretended to be confused but Dean just smiled knowingly. "Hermione you love her." Harry sighed "I do but I fucked it up." He admitted and Dean sighed. "Harry you and Hermione have fallen out before. Look I know its probably harder than it sounds but apologise, explain yourself. You and Hermione have a strong connection... Don't ruin it."
Harry smiled gratefully at Dean who just nodded at him before changing the conversation topic to Quidditch. Before long students were leaving the hall to attend lessons and Harry quickly noted he had DADA. Harry walked in to see Remus Lupin standing behind the desk with Tonks stood next to him. Harry grinned at Remus who smiled back as Tonks winked. "Wotcha Harry." She greeted and Harry smiled.
"Wotcha Tonks." Harry sat at the front as Remus turned to write something on the chalkboard. Other students from Gryffindor and Slytherin walked in. Almost everyone was smiling as Gryffindor's and Slytherin's willing mixed. Harry watched as Hermione sat at the front with Draco next to her as Neville and Pansy shared the desk next to them. Lavender sat happily with Blaise as Crabbe and Goyle sat behind Draco and Hermione.
They were all laughing and talking, they seemed to have struck up a fierce friendship with each other. Tonks watched in astonishment as Remus frowned for a second before smiling again. The seat next to Harry moved and Dean sat down and smiled "I figured you wouldn't want Ron to sit next to you after your argument last night." He quickly explained.
"Well welcome class as I'm sure you remember I'm Remus Lupin and this is my wife Tonks Lupin. Today we will be talking about what it takes to be an Auror and Tonks will tell you what its like to be one. Feel free to ask any questions you have and take down any information you think will be useful to you."

Harry walked out of class with a smile. The lesson had been fun, witty and over all informative. Remus was a good teacher and Tonks made the lesson funny by changing her hair colour and morphing parts of her body into animal parts. Hermione was walking out of class clutching her books when Harry decided to approach her. "Hermione I need to talk to you!" He told her his expression pleading. "Well I don't want to talk to you!" Her reply was sharp and cold.
"Then just listen... I'm sorry OK?! I know what I did was wrong but god my head was so messed up. Dumbledore told me you were dangerous as did the Weasley's and like a fool I believed them. I know its not right what I did as you have been the most amazing friend to me!! Hermione I could never express enough my gratitude for always helping me throughout everything... You've been brilliant to me while I've been an arsehole to you. I don't expect you to be friends with me again but I am sorry." Harry quickly blurted out everything on his mind as Draco walked over. Hermione looked conflicted as Draco smiled at her. "Mione I hate Potter more than anyone but I can tell he's being sincere." Harry was taken aback did Malfoy say something almost nice about him...?
"I don't fully forgive you Harry but neither can I throw away a friendship of nearly six years." Hermione concluded and Harry smiled "Thanks Mione... Thanks Malfoy." Malfoy looked shocked but quickly recovered "Don't worry about it Potter." Then together Harry, Hermione and Draco walked to their next lesson.
