Soraru woke up first than Mafu, and he was a bit dazed as he looked around. A PSP slid off his chest and onto the bed with a soft thump, and suddenly he remembered the night being spent with Mafumafu teaching him to play video games. He got really into it, because he kept playing long after Mafu had passed out.Soraru glanced to his side to see Mafu curled in on himself, as if trying to make himself smaller.
What a weird way to sleep, he thought, but he brought the blanket up to cover Mafu anyways. It would have been a kinder gesture if he didn't throw it lazily on Mafu's head, barely covering his lower body, but the albino wasn't even awake to appreciate the act so Soraru didn't care too much.
Now that the raven haired thought about it, it wasn't often he woke up before Mafumafu. Usually the albino had school so it made sense, but Soraru didn't know what to do now.
I guess I can either go back to sleep or keep playing that game... is that even a question? I want to finish the game... he plopped onto his stomach, his tail swaying behind him as he played on the PSP. He didn't think he would get invested in Dragon Quest, he didn't even expect to fall in love with a slime character, but he did and he told himself to thank Mafu sometime for showing him this game.
Ah. Thank him? Thank him... it was then he suddenly sat up, looking shocked and he turned to face the window. I made a wish to be able to thank him... is that why I'm like this?
It was starting to make sense and frankly, Soraru couldn't believe he had just realized it.
But... does that mean as soon as I thank him I'll go back to normal? He wondered. He didn't know how wishes worked and if there was some kind of catch like that, but all his life he learned nothing good came without a drawback. Despite that, Soraru didn't want to go back to normal, either.
Even though he said he missed being a small cat, he didn't mind this kind of life at all. Mafumafu cooked for him and was willing to still take care of him when he wasn't the small cat from the alley anymore. He really did think the albino was amazing for easily accepting him in his new form. It was because of Mafumafu, he no longer wanted to be a small cat.
He also didn't want to risk it, though.
The cat boy watched the sleeping figure under the blanket and his heart beat a little quicker.
Why do I feel weird things around him... Soraru wondered. He was beginning to not like being up first than Mafu because now he was overthinking. Without hesitation, he reached to pull the blanket off Mafu and shake him.
"Wake up," he grumbled, watching Mafu's eyes flutter open slowly. They were unfocused and he was obviously tired, only reaching to cling to the blankets before they closed again.
"Ten more minutes..." Mafu muttered, his voice full of drowsiness and the cat boy just sighed before leaving him be. He got up to leave the room, deciding to go do something else that would distract him from his thoughts. Just then, his stomach growled and he found himself in the kitchen, walking on his tip toes on the cold floor. He didn't like it at all but he knew Mafu kept food here.
Can't I just eat the cat food? Ah... wait,... he told me not to act like a cat. That's pretty hard... why is he telling a cat to not act like a cat? Humans are really weird, he rambled on in his mind, reaching to open a random cupboard. It was full of ramen, but Soraru didn't know how to make any of it. He searched cupboards until he saw a box of muffins.
He took one and munched on it tentatively, finding the taste too sweet for his liking. He ate it anyways, though, because there was nothing else. Once he was done, he was back to being bored and wondered just how long the albino would sleep. He sighed in defeat and just decided to nap on the couch. He wasn't sure how long he was asleep but eventually, it was Mafu waking him up.
