Mafu had to pry Soraru off of him because for whatever reason, he kept clinging to him and the albino was beyond confused. He almost couldn't believe this was the same cat he took in because Soraru in his cat form only ever attacked him. However, when he noticed Soraru shivering, it made sense because Mafu had saw firsthand that he was naked underneath the blanket. With his face a bright red, he forced Soraru to put on some of his clothes. They fit him alright, which was a relief to Mafu.
Now, he didn't know what to do. Soraru was sitting on his couch without a care in the world, looking like he would fall back asleep any moment. Before he could, however, Mafu decided to try to talk to him.
"U-uhm! Soraru-san? Y-you're really the cat I took in, h-huh?" He started off, Soraru looking to him and just nodding. Mafumafu pursed his lips and pouted a bit at this. "...Can you speak?" He asked next, and Soraru looked thoughtful about this before looking away.
"A... little..." Soraru said, only loud enough for Mafumafu to hear and the albino looked shocked.
His voice is so deep?! The albino immediately thought. Though, he kind of liked it, and would like to hear Soraru's voice a bit more.
"Oh wow! That's good! I was thinking you were mute or something which would have been really awkward because I have a ton of questions!! Y-you understand how shocking this is, right?" He rambled on. The other didn't seem to mind his rambling, but Soraru had a hard time keeping up. Mafu quickly apologized. "Uwaa!! Sorry! I have a habit of talking a lot at once... people in class tell me a lot, haha," Mafu laughed a bit before shaking his head.
"How old are you?" Mafu asked, trying to give simple questions. Soraru looked thoughtful about this before shrugging.
"I think I'm 17... in cat years," he answered slowly, seeming to struggle a bit with his words. However Mafu just clapped encouragingly.
"You're really good at speaking for someone who was previously a cat!" He complimented and Soraru glared at him before looking away. The albino tilted his head in confusion, but he noticed Soraru was... blushing?
"You're older than me, though! I'm only 16!" Mafu said with a smile. It would explain why Soraru was taller than him, too... though if Mafu took a closer look, the cat boy really didn't seem like he would be older. He supposed cats aged differently, but maybe 17 was super old for a cat. Despite loving cats, Mafu admittedly didn't know much, so he was keeping Soraru's age in human years instead since it would be easier to understand. He was beginning to wonder about the other's birthday, too, but...
Mafu sucked in a breath though, carefully asking what he had been curious about before.
"How did you lose you ear...?" Soraru seemed to be caught off guard by this before he returned to a neutral expression.
"A dog." He answered but with a bitter tone. "Dogs... are cruel." He added. He wasn't sure if cruel was the right word, but because of his traumatic history with dogs, he always avoided them as much as he could. Mafu's eyes softened though and he even looked a bit sad. He had always been a cat person but he couldn't imagine a dog tearing off his ear... just the thought made him cringe.
"I'm sorry... but no dogs live around here so you can rest at ease!" He assured with a smile. Although he still had no idea about the situation he is and what to even do, talking to Soraru was nice and making him feel less lonely. Admittedly, Mafu even thought Soraru was cute, too. His new life with Soraru was strange, but he was thinking it wouldn't be too bad if it stayed like this...
"I'm hungry..." Soraru suddenly said, breaking the silence as his stomach growled. Without thinking, he stood and he went to pick up the bowl of cat food he never got around to eating since he thought he was going to die earlier. Mafu shrieked and rushed over to take it from him, much to Soraru's annoyance. The cat boy didn't understand why he wasn't aloud his food.
