It wasn't uncomfortable to spoon Jeremy, but Lucie still didn't feel a hundred percent comfortable, which was why she insisted on being the big spoon. Or more like a backpack to him, since she was rather short.

"This is nice," Jeremy said quietly, because apparently he couldn't think that it was nice in silence. Lucie tried to shrug and nodded. "A little weird, but nice. I'm usually the big spoon."

"Live with it, Shada," Lucie murmured and buried her face in the crook of his neck, feeling the need to hide her flushed cheeks even though he couldn't see her face. "It is nice, though. I like it."

Jeremy hummed and smiled smugly, "And you say that you aren't soft."

"I'm not!" The loud words sounded weird as they had been quite quiet after she got back from her walk, so it was way too loud. Lucie shrunk more into herself, tightening her arms around him as she tried to come up with a way to phrase a question she had been wanting to ask ever since he had posted the date picture on Instagram. So she whispered cautiously, mentally preparing to flee if it went south. "Jeremy, did she who shall not be named contact you? After the picture?"

It was quiet and completely still for a few seconds, and Lucie was pretty sure that she had said something wrong when he just shook his head.

"No, but half of the comment section thought that it was a friend date, so," he mumbled. He missed Emma, he really did, and he wanted her back. He wanted what they had back, but she probably wouldn't care, and that only made him sad.

Lucie whispered a tiny 'oh' and nodded, slowly lifting one of her arms off of the embrace and raised it to gently run her fingers through Jerermy's hair.

"I'm sorry, but it'll be okay. She'll come back running in no time," she tried to assure him, but she didn't even sound very assuring to her own ears. After that, they didn't speak. Jeremy drifted off to sleep after grabbing her hand that was resting on his chest, but Lucie couldn't seem to take a nap. She had too many wild thoughts running through her head, but it was okay.

It was going to be okay.
