Chapter 10

TANYA SHARMA

As I entered the house, I smelled something delicious from my kitchen, and it was all my favorite food, that means mumma has came home and today we are going to have an amazing dinner!!

I rushed in the kitchen and hugged my mother tightly, that she got settled.

"Tanya, you scared me, who shouts like this?"Mumma tried to scold me.

"Hehe, what are you making?" I asked mom.

"Your favorite egg custard, lasagna, and ice tea", mom said and I clapped my hands excitedly.

"Now go and freshen up fast, and come and help me to organize the table", mom said.

"You are making everything for me, to make me feel special, and I also have to work", I told my mom with a pout.

"Go, and come fast", mom said, and I rushed to my room, got freshen and went downstairs and saw mumma had already set the table.

"Mumma, you are the best", I exclaimed.

We sat and mumma served me, we were having dinner while having small talks, mumma said, how she is so proud of me and wishes the best for me, I am happy, as mumma is and I hope I fullfill all her wishes with mine, I am happy that I could make her proud and I will in future, I promised my self.

I asked what did aunt say, but she changed the topic, and I let her as I know if we talk about her , both our moods will be bad, so I let the topic go, I also told mom about Neel, him being in town, mom asked me to call him for dinner as well as Sonu as old times. I said, I will text them and will let them know, I skipped the part about my boss being Neel's friend as I didn't feel like telling it to mom.

After some more chit chat, we called it a night. I went in my room, and got ready for tomorrow, I thought to go with formals as it is my first day.

I decided to go with peach shirt and black trousers, with classic black sandals, I sent my outfit to Sonu for approval, as she is my fashion queen and I trust her taste in clothes, she gave me thumbs up, afterwards I prepared my bag as I don't want to rush in morning, and it's better. I kept a notepad, pen, resume and all the important stuff needed.

After preparing I set my alarm and went to bed, as it had being a long day, I went to sleep instantly.

**NEXT DAY**

I woke up on time, did my morning routine and had a breakfast, yes I had a breakfast as I was hungry and mumma blackmailed me that if I will have breakfast then only she will talk to me so I had no other option, but I was hell nervous, as I sat in the cab my nervousness increased, I gave my self a prep talk as I reached near the building, that everything will be good, I have to give my 100% and this will create my future, saying god's name I entered the building.

I saw my friend who is also starting his intern, his name is Soham and he is my batch mate so I know him quite well, I went towards him, we talked as our team manager had not came in yet.

After few minutes our team manager came, we were divided into our teams, and were told about our work, what we have to do and how, and also we were informed that the boss will be having a meeting each day after our work as to know our progress and also for training purpose.

I really liked my work environment, it was not so much stressful, but it was, as handling documents is not so easy, as it's our first day, they were going easy on us, I was assigned to read the contracts of previous businesses as to learn how the company manages their clients, for the day I was given 5 files and was told to write summary on them, which was a task as it was completely new for me, but my leader helped me with my doubts.

At the end of the day, I had successfully completed my work, and now we had the meeting with our boss, and all our work was going to be reported and I am sure we all are nervous.

As we sat on our chairs the boss entered the cabin, and we all stood up in the sense of respect.

"Settle down", Sir said and we took our respective seats.

"I want all the team leaders to report about the work done by the interns", sir said. he had authority in his voice and seriousness, that I will not take things seriously.

First my team leader went and showed what we had done, we were 2 girls in same team and our work was divided.

Our team leader first explained the task which was given and then she went on our personal feedback. As she went on to the feedback sir stopped her.

"Dear interns, I know some of you can feel that giving feedback in front of others is not good, as some can feel ashamed, but I want all to know the first rule about work, that you have to be ready to take feed backs, being it a positive one or negative one, you all are here to learn, so make sure you get that, you have to learn from other's mistake as well as from other's progress, I don't want anyone to creep and being offended with negative remarks and being over confident with positive ones", Sir said.

We all nodded our heads as a sign of agreement, I really liked what sir said and it's definitely a truth, we all are here to learn. Also our thought were almost the same, I also believe in same  thing, but I felt that saying negative in front of all can be harsh to some, so there should be personalize feedback too, so the person can cope with it and work hard as some has the attitude of taking negative remarks very easily, but decided not to voice out, may be later I can talk about it, but right now let it be with my self.

We all went back to meeting, getting feed backs and learning more techniques how to increase our skills, Sir is really helpful he made us understand things easily and also showed different ways to do so, which I really liked, he is not at all bossy.

After the meeting we all called it a day, as I was leaving the building I heard some one calling my name, and it was none other then sir.

"Miss Tanya", sir called and I turned towards him.

"Yes sir", I said confidently, bit deep inside I was nervous, why did sir called me like this?

"I wanted to talk to you that, we are going to meet each other frequently as you being my best friend's; best friend and also my employee, but one thing I want to make clear is that let's keep things differently, if we meet with our friends let's be personal and not let our professional  relationship come in it and in office let just be professional", Sir said.

"Yes Sir, I completely agree with you", I said and nodded my head.

"So Miss Tanya, can I call you only Tanya in person and you can call me Rohan in person", Sir said.

"Okay", I said and blushed, I don't know but my name sounded too good, I know this is wring to thing but oh man I have a huge crush on him, so can't help it.

"So let's meet on Sunday like friends, as we are going for an outing with Sonu your friend, Neel and Neha", Sir said.

I looked at him confused, as if reading my thoughts Sir said," Ohh you will come to know everything from Neel as it is his plan".

After that we said I bye and left, I swear the time we talked my heart beat was on 10X speed, I don't know how I was able to control and was behaving confidently in front of him, but I was liking the idea of us being perosnally friends, "Tanu, you have gone mad, what are you thinking", I said mu self and decided to go home as I am sure  Sonu would be waiting for me to tell her everything about my first day.
