C H A P T E R O N E

Y/N's POV

The hot summer wind touched my skin, almost causing me to freeze the whole world. I always found summers uninteresting and annoying just because of the heat.

I sat up from where I was resting outside under a large tree in our school garden. Unfortunately my eyes were greeted by the student I most despise, Kim Seokjin.

He was one of the school's favourite like I was but the reason why I disliked him was unexplainable.

My eyes traced his tall slender figure, from his messy pink hair down to his dark chocolate brown eyes which were staring right into mine. By the corner of my eye I realised he was wearing a sweet smile which I reckon is just for the show.

"Y/N" as soon as I heard my name being called, I broke my quiet 'staring contest' with Seokjin and looked at the direction where the familiar voice came from.

"Jimin?" I smiled at him but I was also confused, "Why are you here? You don't go here"

"He transferred from Busan so he can study with me" Park Minji, the only sister of Jimin spoke half excited and half nervous.

"You don't sound much happy" The silver haired boy glanced at his sister.

"It's just, you always try to protect me from everything" Minji pouted which I found very adorable.

"That's my job as a brother" Jimin said proudly at his younger sister.

"Come on, name me at least three situations I've gotten in trouble" The girl demanded, sitting next to me.

"The time you broke our family clock"

"That was Namjoon"

"When you almost twisted my bicycle tyres"

"That was also Namjoon"

"The time you destroyed almost all of my sunglasses"

"Um...that was definitely Namjoon"

Jimin sighed and gave Minji a small smile,"Ok then, I won't disturb you this time but I will still look out for you"

Minji offered her brother a hug and smiled, "Thank you"

Just then I saw Taehyung, Namjoon and Jungkook walking to our direction with their smiles on. I greeted all of them with a hello and smiled at them.

"The summer vacation is over but the heat is still there" said a blond haired boy.

"Taehyung you have been saying that for the thousand time" spoke a brown haired boy.

"Yeah, what Jungkook said is true. Taehyung won't stop complaining about the heat since this morning" agreed another light brown haired boy.

"Thanks Namjoon" Taehyung said sarcastically.

I decided to change the subject by asking them how their summer vacation went. Seems like the boys Jungkook, Namjoon, Taehyung and Jimin went on a trip to Sri Lanka because it was less hotter than Korea in summer.

Minji was at her grandparent's in Busan for the whole summer. I was the only one who just spent the whole vacation at home.

Jimin surprised us with his arrival at Academy for Gifted today, stating that he was transferring here. He used to go to another school at Busan but I guess he decided to study here with us.

"Anyway, what class are you in?" I asked Jimin.

"My schedule says, 2nd year B" He answered.

"Oh, you're in the same class as my sister and Taehyung" I frowned at the word 'sister'.

"Sister?" Jimin had a confuse look written on his face.

Taehyung let out a little chuckle, "You don't know Jira? Kung Jira? Y/N sister?"

Jimin just shook his head.

"Long story short, I have a sister who's actually one of the Fire people. She was born with the ability to control fire, unlike us who can control ice" I explained Jimin. He didn't say anything for a while.

"How did that happen?" he asked.

"We think it's because of Y/N's and Jira's father" Jungkook said.

"Why?" Jimin questioned.

"My father left us when we were born and we're guessing he's from the fire side while my mother's from the ice side. Of course my mother won't tell us anything" I sighed and stared at the distance, watching Seokjin talking to his friends including my sister.

I felt my cheeks heating up from the anget that was boiling inside me. Why out of all of people, Jira decided to hang out with the person I dislike?

I stood outside the gate, waiting for Jira after school. I personally disliked the people from the fire side but I couldn't hate my own sister. I might treat her coldly as if I don't care about her but truely I was actually happy being with her.

"I'm here" Jira walked towarda me with a smile plastered on her face, "Did you wait for me too long?"

"Yes I did. Now let's go shall we?"

"About that...I'm going to hang out with my friends today. Can you go home alone today?" She asked and right then her friends came to her one by one.

"Ok but don't..." My voice faded after I saw Seokjin standing next to Hoseok with a small smile on.

"Oh Y/N, how was your summer?" Seokjin asked, breaking the short silence.

"I had a very good time, thank you Seokjin" I said sarcastically.

"Never thought doing nothing at home was a very good or healthy thing to do"

"Does it look like I care?"

"Just stop arguing already" Jira interrupted and Seokjin looked away.

"I'm leaving. Just go do whatever you want" I stormed off, leaving my sister with her friends without a goodbye.
