Raven and Dexter were walking through Book End when Dexter heard a voice. "Don't do it," Dexter turned around to see who was talking to him, but he saw nothing. Raven noticed. "Hey, is everything alright?" Dexter nodded slowly. "Yeah, I think." So Dexter and Raven kept on walking. "Don't run away, Dexterous Charming. Don't run away! Talk to your mother, set things right!" Dexter wiped around to see who's talking to him. Dexter saw a woman in a long white dress and with hair as long as Holly O'Hairs with her finger to her mouth, disappear. "Dex, are you sure you're ok?" Raven said as she grabbed Dexter's hand. "D-Did you see that?!?" Raven looked around to see what Dexter was talking about. "No. What am I supposed to see?" Dexter mouth was hanging open. "There was a woman, standing right in front of me, she said "Don't run away, Dexterous Charming. Don't run away! Talk to your mother, set things right!" She looked kinda like a ghost."Dexter said as he backed up. Raven was worried. "Dex..." Dexter looked at Raven and saw her with a worried look on her face. "I'm not crazy. I know what I saw. And you might want to stay at Cerise's for the night." Dexter kissed Raven's cheek and started to walk away. "Dexter! Don't walk away from me." Dexter stopped and turned around. Raven walked towards him. "What's up with you? No matter what, I'm staying with you." Dexter grabbed Raven's hands. "I love you, Raven, I do, but I need to talk with my mom and I don't know what she's going to say, and I don't want you part of that." Raven kissed Dexter. "I might not want to, but you need someone on your side and to keep you safe, who know's what your mother's going to do." Dexter hug Raven. "I love you." Raven smiled. "I know." As they started to walk back to the Charming castle, Raven asked Dexter, "What are we going to talk about with your mother exactly?" Dexter shrugged. "I don't know. Many things."
Dexter and Raven walked through the castle door of the Charming's to find the Queen waiting for them. "Where were you!" Dexter stopped can we talk?"The Queen crossed her arms. "Why? I'm not going to change my mind." Dexter walked up to his mother slowly. "Mom, I said thing's in anger, and I think you did too, and I want to talk without anger. Please?" The Queen's face soften a little. "Fine." The Queen, Dexter, and Raven walked out to the garden. All of them sat down at a table. "Mom? I want to know why you won't let me or Raven leave?" The Queen fidgeted. "I never said I won't let Raven leave. She can-" Dexter sat up sat up straighter. "Mom, not in anger." The Queen started to sink down a little. Raven noticed. The Queen wouldn't talk. "Mom...." The Queen stood up and started to walk away, but it looked like she was fighting it. Raven started to think of the thing the Queen had been doing lately. She fidgeted, and a Queen never does that, she raised her voice, and she kinda slouched a little- "No!" Raven thought. Raven stood up and started to run after the queen. "Raven!" Dexter said as he ran after Raven. When Raven got to the Queen, Raven ran in front of her. "What are you doing? Get out of my way!" The Queen started to walk forwards but Raven didn't move. "Raven what are you....?" Raven stepped forwards towards the Queen. And...Hugged her. Raven hugged the Queen as she fought her, but then the Queen went limp. "Mom!" Raven slowly laid down Dexter's mom on the ground. Dexter ran to his mom. "Raven, what's wrong with her?" Dexter asked as he knelt down next his unconcise mother. "I think she got cursed. Think about, she done more things lately that aren't Queen like. She fidgets while she talks, she raises her voice, and she slouches a little." Dexter thought about. "Your right! But who would do this to he-" Dexter stopped mid-sentence. His mom opened up her eyes and opened her mouth, and black smoke came out. "Lift her head up!" Raven said. Dexter did so. The Queen started to cough. "W..What (Cough) happened?" The Queen slowly started to sit up. "You got cursed," Raven said. "What who would do..." The Queen stood up. "No. I must go." The Queen started to run. "Mom!" Dexter yelled after his mother, as he runs after her along with Raven by his side. "Not now Dexter! I have to go." Dexter caught up to her and ran in front of her. "Not until you tell me what's going on?" The Queen sighed. "Fine." All of them went back to the garden. "Now, what's going on? Why did Raven's hug of all thing break your curse? And why did you have a curse put on you in the first place?" Dexter asked. Raven grabbed Dexter's hand. "Dexter, You don't know my past, and you always ask about, and I think it's time you know it." The Queen took a big breath. "I wasn't born a Royal. My family was very poor, and we didn't even have enough money for clothes really, we made our clothing from fabric in we found in the garbage. My mother died during childbirth, we didn't have the money to get to a hospital at the time. When I and your aunts were born, my father got two jobs, and my sisters and I were raised basically by my aunt. But what I and my sisters didn't know was that my mother had had magic in her blood. When I was about thirteen, I found out I had power's, along with my sister's too. Our magic was very powerful, my sister Veronica could crate her own spells from scratch, while I and Anastasia had to use books. I could do any spell I could read and memorize it in about five minutes and then cast that spell. Anastasia on the other hand, well we never found out really what she was, I mean she could stop time or speed it up, she could go back in time, the future, and she could do anything me or my sister could do. She was very powerful." The Queen wiped a tear from her eye. "Anyway, me and my sisters never were part of a story, my mom and dad ran away from there stories to live happily ever after....That never happened. My sister Veronica wanted to be part of a story, but she wanted to be the main character, I just wanted a prince and little Anastasia didn't know what she wanted. When we were sixteen, my Aunt sent us to fetch some wood for a fire in early spring, so we went out into the snowy forest for some wood. While we headed back home with arms full of wood, Veronica and I were talking, when we heard a scream. We turned around to see Anastasia covering her ears screaming while laying on the ground, the wood she was carrying burning all around her. Veronica, being the oldest told me to run and get my aunt. I did as I was told. As I ran I could still hear Anastasia screaming and Veronica chanting. I got to my house, but my aunt wasn't there. I screamed her name until I heard some saying my name. I turned around to see Anastasia. Only....She wasn't The Anastasia I knew. She was see-through, floating, and....Dead." Raven gasped. "I asked my sister what happened to her, but she said nothing, instead, she hugged me, and vanished. I cried as I ran for Veronica. I found her cradling Anastasia in her arms, crying. Something happened when I went to comfort my sister, She shouted "NO!" And she flung me backward. I hit a tree, hard, and I blacked out. When I woke up, My sister's weren't there. I never found out what happened to Anastasia that day, even Anastasia doesn't know, but I know that she happy. Anastasia comes and visits me sometimes. She was very beautiful, even as a ghost." "What happened to Veronica?" Dexter asked. "She helped the Evil Queen sometimes, she goes around cursing people, you know, Evil things." Raven had tears falling from her eyes. "Raven, are you ok?" Raven shook her head. "That's so sad. I'm sorry for your loss." The Queen stood up and walked over to hug Raven. As the Queen hugged Raven, Dexter saw something out of the corner of his eye. He stood up and walked over to the spot where he thought he saw something. "Hello." He heard a voice say in a whispery kinda tone. Dexter turned around to see the ghost he had just seen earlier. "Um, Hello. May I ask why you told me to talk with my mo-" Dexter was cut off by his mother's voice. "Anastasia! What are you doing here?" Dexter backed up. "This is your sister? My aunt!?!" Anastasia nodded. "I knew my sister was cursed, but being a spirit I can't interfere with the living, only talk to the ones I choose." Anastasia floated over to Raven. "Thank you, Raven Queen for freeing my sister." Raven had a million questions. "Um, you're welcome. I've never seen a spell like that before." Anastasia nodded as she said, "I'm not surprised. That was the work of Veronica, my sister. She created that spell." The Queen tumbled backward a little. "What! Why would Veronica do that!?!" Anastasia floated over to her sister. "You know why Cassaundra." Dexter looked at his mother. "Cassaundra? I thought your name was Emily." Cassaundra turned to her son. "I had to change my name, for my family was known for how poor we were, and I didn't want your father to find out." Dexter walked over toward Raven. "So, What's your real surname then?" Cassaundra turned towards Anastasia and back towards Dexter. "Song. Cassaundra Song." Raven thought for a moment. "Wait. If your so kind, why are you so hard on Darling, and how did you become so proper, and.....Does Dexter have magic?" Raven asked. Dexter looked at Raven then at his mother. "Do I have magic mom?" Cassaundra thought for a minute. "All of my children have magic in their blood. Daring's power is Charm, we all know that. Darling's, well, I don't really know. She never confides in me. And you Dexter, you went after Raven when she got cursed. So you entered the realm of the Cursed. Only a few people can remember what it looks like, but you weren't really cursed when you went after Raven. To be cursed, you can't want the cruse to be put on you, and you choose to be cursed, so because you had my magic blood flowing in your veins, you were able to cross over and save Raven. And you, with the help of Raven, you fought the power of eros's arrow. Not even a god could do that. You're more powerful than any one of your siblings. But, the reason you have glasses, is because Veronica put a curse on you. She told me that you and your future family will be able to take her out of power, and she needed you to have a weakness." Cassaundra turned to Raven. "And I became so proper because I had spell books. I wouldn't be so hard on Darling if I got her. I don't know one thing other than her birthday about her. If she chooses to confined in me one day I might not be so hard on her. Now if you'll excuse us, I have to talk with Anastasia alone." Raven and Dexter walked out of the garden, and into their room. "Well, what a surprise. You've got magic in your blood." Dexter sat on their bed. "Dex, are you ok?" Dexter shook his head. "Do you want to talk about it?" Raven sat down on the bed and started to rub Dexter's back. "Not now. I'm going to take a bath to clear my mind." Dexter got up and grabbed some things and went into their bathroom. "Poor Dex. I hope he's going to be ok." Raven said and unpacked her bag.
