Rexter three

Chapter 13

Raven woke up to see Dexter left a note on her bedside table. 

Raven, You fell asleep while I was in the shower. It's dinner time, depending on when you wake up. I also made you a surprise.          -D.Charming.

Raven got out of bed, fixed her hair and headed downstairs. As Raven got downstairs she smelt the smell of..."Burning caramel?" Raven thought as she walked into the kitchen. "Raven!" Dexter and Darling said together. Raven just stood in the doorway trying to take in what she was seeing. Dexter was dumping a lot of burned caramel down a garbage can, Darling was on her knees scraping what Raven hoped was burned caramel, in the sink, there was a mountain of dirty pans, pots and wooden spoons, caramel was all of the counters, and when Raven walked in a little more she saw Dexter and Darling was covered with black oozing stuff. "Um, What happened here?" Raven asked while she used some of her magic to clean off the burned caramel on the floor, then to get the burned caramel of Darling's and Dexter cloths. "Well, Dexter wanted to make you some homemade caramel....By himself." Darling sighed. "I came downstairs and smelt the burning caramel, and rush to see what was happening in the kitchen. Then I found my brother making a disaster in the kitchen." Darling nudged Dexter's shoulder. "Is this the surprise you made me?" Raven asked in a playful way. "Um, Well, not Hexactly." Raven opened the refrigerator door to make her self some dinner. "Um, Raven?" Darling asked stepping over a pot on the floor. "Could you use your magic too, well, clean up?" Raven shook her head. "No, I think you two have to learn from your mistake,"  Raven said while she put her plate of mashed potatoes, turkey, and some greens on the side in the microwave. "But...I didn't do anything!" Raven chuckled. "You might not have done anything, but Dexter can't-do all this work on his own. But don't worry I'll help, after I eat." The microwave beeped, and Raven grabbed her plate, opened a drawer underneath the microwave and grabbed a fork and knife and kissed Dexter's cheek on her way out.

The clean up took about an hour and a half. Darling almost passed out on her bed in her clothes when she got to her room, Raven and Dexter got to there room and Dexter had to take another shower because he smelt of burned caramel. While Dexter was in the shower, Raven got change into her pajamas. After Raven took off her makeup she heard a knock on the door. "Hold on," Raven yelled, as she put her dirty makeup pad cleansers into the garbage. Raven opened the door to find The Queen standing there. "Oh, hi," Raven said not expecting to open her door to her soon to be mother-in-law standing there. "May I come in?" Raven nodded. "Yeah." Raven opened the door wider for The Queen. "I was thinking, you and Dexter won't be safe here as long Veronica knows you and Dexter live here. I remember you and Dexter wanted to move to a house he bought for you two, and I think as soon as you can, you should move there." Raven just sat on her bed next to The Queen staring at her. "Why would we not be safe here?" Raven asked The Queen. "Did Dexter not tell you?" Raven was even more confused now. "Tell me what?" The Queen sighed and told Raven about Veronica's dream, the threats made towards Daring, then the cruse she put on Dexter and so on. By the time The Queen ended her story, Dexter was out of his shower and sitting next to Raven. "How come you never told me this Dexter?" Raven turned to see Dexter's face. "I found out about two hours ago, and I was going to tell you while we ate homemade caramel, but that backfired. I was going to tell you tomorrow at some point so you could have a restful night." Dexter glared at his mother. "Sorry, son." The Queen said. "What are you even doing in our room?" Dexter asked in none threatening way. "I came to tell Raven and you, that as soon as you can, you should move to your beach house. Veronica knows you live here, it's not safe for you too anymore." The Queen stood up. "I must go to bed now, please think it over." The Queen walked out of the room leaving Raven and Dexter to think. "Dex, are you ok?" Dexter shrugged. "I don't really know how to feel about all this. I put you and our children in the line of evil by being with you. If only I knew." Raven grabbed Dexter's hand. "Even if you knew, that wouldn't have stopped me from loving you a far, and I'd like to think that wouldn't have stopped you from loving me a far. I can take care of myself Dex, and we could talk with your mom about your power's some more, and you know that our children will be very powerful so, when they're grown they can take care of themselves, well, protect themselves that is." Dexter looked at Raven. "But you didn't sign up for this when you said yes to marrying me. It's not fair to you or our children." Raven sighed. "Your right I didn't hexpect this, but I won't run, and I hope that you know, When you got shot with a love arrow-" Dexter sighed. "Do you have to bring that up?" Raven nodded. "Yes, I do. Anyways, I could've run away, and yes I did. But it wasn't Cupid who made look for a cure for you, I did it because I knew the man who I love was trapped somewhere, maybe in pain, and I couldn't stand that, but knowing I could do something for him I knew what I had to do," Raven grabbed Dexter's hands. "I will forever stand by you side Dexter, no matter what you do. I just hope you don't do what I did," Dexter looked confused and Raven saw that. "I gave into my fear and hurt without talking to anyone and I suffered on the inside for years, and I did stupid things. While I grew older, I didn't think anyone would love me for who I was, but I let my guard down after you took me to that hill behind Ever After High. I'm glad I did." Raven moved closer towards Dexter. "I love you, Dexter, I will forever after," Raven stood up and walked towards her dresser and pulled the neckless Dexter gave her before meeting his parents, and then Raven grabbed the key that could unlock it and walked back to Dexter and sat down on the bed. "This is my hart," Raven handed over to Dexter the key. "And Dex, you hold the key to it." A tear ran down Dexter's face. Raven wiped away the tear with her thumb. "I love you, Dexter, and I know things seems hard right now, but we'll get through it like we always do." Dexter broke down in tears. Raven hugged him. "I love you too Raven," Dexter said with fear and love in his voice. "I know." After Dexter stopped crying the couple headed off to bed. They where both scared of what Veronica could do they knew as long as they had each other they would be ok.
