Math had to be the most prolonged period of my life. But when it was over, I quickly found Jasper and Edward. We headed to the library. I didn't notice Edward staring at me until the sharp jerking movement he made. I squinted my eyes in confusion, after this he didn't look my way again.

The library doors opened, and I was immediately engulfed in a tight hug. "Hey Alex, you wanna sit by me?" My lips curled into a smile at the sound of Alice's question. When she released her iron grip, I nodded my head at the request.

The next thing I knew, I was being dragged to a table and essentially pushed into a chair. "So Lexi, how was your first day?" The question belonged to Rosalie, which is interesting as I thought she quite disliked me. I smiled softly, "It was decent, most of the classes were okay." I respond.

A throat clearing catches my attention, my eyes diverting to Emmett, who has something to say. "So Alex, what is your favorite subject?" I ponder the question for a minute before solidifying on my answer. "History," a chuckle passes throughout the table, I choose to ignore it.

"Do you play any instruments?" the question is voiced by Edward. I quickly respond, my love of music immediately taking over. "I play the piano and the guitar," another chuckle is released from the siblings.

"Oh! Edward plays the piano, and I bet he could help you." As Alice speaks, I can barely contain myself from wincing. My music is sacred to me, like a secret that I don't want to be let out. I look towards Edward and see that he feels the same about his music, his piano.

A question was looming in the back of my mind. It was something that I've wanted to ask, but haven't do to the large amount of insincerity that the question has in itself.

"Could you tell me why, if you all are adopted, you have the same eye colors?" I couldn't control myself as the words slip through my lips.

The cheery atmosphere that was once here before is no more. If they think I didn't notice, they are severely wrong. Alice clears her throat," Why don't you come over to our house this weekend?"

Usually, I would question a sudden change in topic, but it seemed as I shouldn't in this particular situation. I nod my head to the question, slightly unsure of the immediate context. She smiles brightly, and I wish I could say I did the same at that moment.
