Prom was tonight. Bella barely had a sense of how to use makeup, so currently, I stuck helping her.
When I finally finished her makeup, I helped her to her feet, zipping up her royal blue dress.
I stood behind her in the mirror while we looked at the finished product. Strangely, our dresses complimented each other, even if they were completely different.
I had chosen a strapless floor-length ruby red gown, with black heels, while Bella's was a shorter, ruffled royal blue dress.
I could hear talking downstairs as I messed with my hair in the mirror. Bella grabbed my hand and tugged me away, practically muttering, "Let's go. We're going to be late."
I barely look up while walking down the stairs, mostly due to my irrational fear of falling and making a fool of myself, but also because I could feel Jasper watching me.
When I look up, Jasper is smiling brightly, "You look beautiful." I grin and take his hand. I murmur a shy 'thank you' out as my dad starts talking.
"You look beautiful, Alex. Have fun, and look out for your sister." I smile at him and nods as Jasper starts walking to the door, opening it for me.
When the door shuts behind us, Jasper is quick to open the passenger side door and guides me in, making sure my head doesn't hit the door.
When he shuts the door, he is in the driver's seat faster than I can blink. "So, do you mind if we stop at my place? Alice wants to take some pictures." I nod in response, and Jasper starts the car.
Somewhere along the drive, Jasper's hand grabs mine securely. I smile at the gesture.
When we finally arrive at his house, he helps me out of the car, and before I can comprehend anything, a bright flash goes off.
When my vision returns to normal, I see Alice holding a camera. I smile.
"Hey, Alice," When I look up, the rest of the Cullen family is there, all staring. If it wasn't for the fact that they haven't seen me since Phoenix, I would've thought there was something on my face.
The next thing I know, I'm in a bear hug, with Emmett nearly squeezing the life out of me. "Alex! You're okay! We missed you!" When he finally set me down, I was engulfed in another hug by the girls.
When they finally release me, Carlisle and Esme come up to me with smiles on their faces.
"We're glad to have you back, Alex," Esme starts, "Yes, it's great to have our family together again," I look at Carlisle as he finishes speaking and smile. 'Family. They consider me family.'
I can practically feel Alice bouncing up and down beside me, so to satisfy her, I finally suggested we take the pictures.
When the pictures were finally done, we all clambered into cars.
When we arrived, the inside of the dance was significantly crowded, so Jasper and I found ourselves outside. We could hear the music, so when a slower song started playing, we danced as well.
"You know, I almost lost you." I could hear the emotion in Jasper's voice and looked up at him.
"But you didn't, Jasper. Everything is still hazy from that night, but I know you wouldn't let me leave you. I'll never leave you." He smiles at me.
When the song reaches the end, he places his hand on my cheek and leans in.
When our lips connect, the kiss is passionate and full of love.
When we finally break from the kiss, Jasper rests his forehead on mine, and I close my eyes, content with everything the night could bring us.
It was perfect.
