Chapter 14- Dance of Death

When we arrived at the ballet studio, I was terrified of what would happen when we walked through the doors. Bella was armed with pepper spray as if that would harm a vampire.

Bella walks into the ballet studio without caution. I, however, am not determined to die immediately. Bella looks back at me, waiting for me to walk faster. When I step next to her, we hear our mother's voice.

"Bella? Bella? Where are you?" Bella takes off without a second thought, and I follow, however in the back of my mind, I wonder why our mother didn't call for me as well.

Bella shouts as we run through the studio, towards the source of our mother's voice. Bella opens the closet door and is met with a TV playing a tape of one of Bella's home videos.

It's a trap.

We hear chuckling behind us, and as we turn, the tracker's reflection is everywhere, courtesy of the mirrors surrounding the room.

"Now that's my favorite part. You were a stubborn child." His voice is cold as he walks towards Bella. In a weak voice, my sister speaks, "She's not even here."

James pushes Bella against a wall, and for once, I loved not being noticed. James's voice rings out in the room as he speaks, "I borrowed this from your house. I hope you two, don't mind." 'Damn'. He smiles as he pulls out a video camera and presses play, "And, Action." He turns the camera up towards Bella and taunts her, "Aw, this will break Edward's little heart."

Bella backs up and shouts at him, "Edward has nothing to do with this!" James was in her face again within seconds. I start towards the door slowly, trying not to draw attention to myself. 'If I can get out of here, I could get Alice or Jasper.'  I look towards the two, and just as I did, Bella pepper-sprayed him.

She turns towards me and starts to run. I take that queue and start running as well. James jumps over us and grabs Bella before throwing her across the room. I hear glass shatter from behind me, but I'm preoccupied with James staring at me like I'm a meal. He grabs my arms and throws me to the ground. I slide across the floor and land next to my sister.

A snap echoed throughout the room, followed by Bella's screams. When I turn my head towards her, James removes his foot from on top of her leg. He looks towards me and takes a menacing step forward but is tackled by Edward before anything could happen to me.

The two men fight for a seemingly short amount of time before Edward throws him across the studio. Having bought some time, he runs towards us. He picks Bella up quickly and looks towards me. I look at him before speaking, "Go. Get Bella out of here. " He looks at me again, unsure but nods. He runs towards the window before jumping, but a hand grabs his ankle and yanks him down.

Bella fell out of his arms, and lands on the ground harshly. Edward was thrown through a window, and the glass rained down on me. Pain flooded through my arm as a large piece of glass pierced my skin.

I looked at the blood flowing down my arm and suddenly had a realization. With the amount of blood coming out of my body, the glass had to have nicked an artery.

I break out of my thoughts when I hear Bella scream. Jame's body is hunched over her, her wrist at his mouth. I yell in protest, but it does nothing to stop him from biting her.

Edward dives towards the vampire and wrestles him away from Bella. When I look at Bella, she is writhing on the floor in pain, a side effect from the venom now in her bloodstream. I try getting up, but find myself severely dizzy. I look downwards, a pool of my blood is forming under me from the wound in my arm: 'Yup, definitely an artery.'

When I look back towards them, Carlisle pries Edward off of James and ushers him towards Bella. Alice runs towards Bella as well, taking her belt off. Edward looks down at Bella before taking her wrist and biting into it.

I look at the others before finding the honey-blonde.

My voice is soft, "Jasper." His head turns to me, and his eyes widen. My knees buckle from underneath me, but his arms catch me. Alice looks up towards me, before grabbing Carlisle.

"Oh my god."

Carlisle rushes over, checking my injury before looking at Alice, "We need to get her to a hospital, she's lost too much blood."

Jasper picks me up and starts walking towards the car. "Stay awake, Lexi. Okay? Stay Awake. " His voice is trembling.

I clear my throat before looking at him, "Jasper," he hums in acknowledgment, "I'm tired." My eyes flutter shut as Jasper desperately tries to keep me awake.

I hear a chorus of my name from the family.

The only thing I remember before everything went dark was a whisper from Jasper.

"Please."
