Friday rolled around quickly, and Dad and I were currently waiting for Bella to show up at the diner. Only after we ordered did Bella arrive. "Sorry I'm late, I had a biology project," she muttered. I wanted to roll my eyes, but I refrained myself. Biology project? More like an Edward project.
Dad was completely oblivious and continued with the conversation, "It's alright. I ordered you a spinach salad, that ok?"
Bella nodded as she replied, eyeing his steak, "Yeah, you should order one for yourself next time." I rolled my eyes just as the waitress came to deliver our food.
---
When we arrived home, I practically ran to my room. After the nightmare at dinner, I just wanted to relax. While I usually would want to be alone and not have any more social interaction for the rest of the night, I wanted Jasper with me tonight.
Something tapped my window, and as I turned to it, I got full sight of Jasper, his golden hair blowing softly in the wind. I smiled and opened the window as far as possible to let him inside.
We were resting comfortably on my bed, me in his cold arms when I heard a loud bang followed by shuffling coming from Bella's room. Jasper, sensing my tension, whispered in my ear, "Relax, it's just Edward." I relax in his arms, almost immediately.
"Hey Jaz, I love you," I yawned towards the end of my statement, and I knew that he was smiling at me. I could feel sleep overcoming my senses, and the last thing I could remember is Jasper whispering into my hair, "I love you too, darlin'."
---
I woke up alone. Still groggy from sleep, I looked around my room to see a piece of paper with Jasper's handwriting on my bedside table.
~ I'm sorry I left early, I had to go. Edward and I are going to pick you and Bella up later. I hope you like baseball.
Love, Jaz ~
Immediately, the thought of Bella and sports filled my mind; I cringed at the idea. I place my hands on the windowsill and look outside. There's going to be a storm.
I decided that I'd worry about that later, and turned my focus to getting ready for today. I chose an outfit that I thought was suitable for today, given the plans as well as the incoming weather.
I was tying my hair into a low pony-tail when Bella passed by my bedroom door. I rushed to catch up with her as she went down the stairs. "Hey Bells, are you ready for baseball today?"
She looked at me before answering my question, "Sort of." Her expression gave away the fact that she was not excited.
I pause before speaking up, "You know, we still have to tell dad." She looks at me as if she had forgotten that. "Right." disdain in her voice.
We walked around the corner to where our father was, cleaning his gun at the table. I spoke out first, "Hey dad, Bella, and I are going to play baseball with Jasper and Edward Cullen." He looks up to me when I mention the boy's names. He squints before asking, "Who's going with who?" I notice that Bella seems to have no interest in speaking to our father about this specific matter, so I speak up again, "I'm going with Jasper, and Bella's going with Edward."
Our father pauses for a second, contemplating my words. He looks up at us before speaking, "Aren't they a little old for you two?" Bella speaks almost immediately, "No, Edward is a junior, and so is Jasper. I thought you liked the Cullens?"
Dad shoots his next question to Bella, completely disregarding me, "Well, Bells, I thought you didn't like any boys in town." Bella rolls her eyes before responding, "They don't live in town technically. They're right outside." Dad looks up, not expecting them to be here already. "They are?" Bella and I nod in response to his question.
