“Violet try and be… try to be nice be involved in a friendly way please.” Violet simply nodded,” No Vie my mother, your grandmother, sent you here because you were doing this; you wouldn’t do anything.” Violet turned her head away from her uncle and out the car window. “No don’t you do this. You’re not the only one who lost someone, that was my family too.”
Violet didn’t answer her uncle she just merely shook her head in acknowledgement and said nothing. It was lucky that the car pulled up to the large stadium and Ted, her uncle, turned to her,” Okay now please don’t say something that you will regret later. I’m sorry but these boys are nice and I don’t want to offend them. Please Vie this in my job. Everyone was kind enough to let you into the rehearsal.”
The thing was the Violet didn’t want to be there the only reason she was, was because her family thought she need to reconnect to the world. They gave her to her father’s brother to take care of because he had connections in the music world. They wanted her to take up music again, he could make it happen. She guessed that her uncle was showing her the UK boy band so that she could remember how much fun it was to perform. The thing they all didn’t get was that she didn’t want to start music again in her life right now, they were pushy and she pushing them away.
She grabbed her black fringed purse, shut her door, and followed her Uncle Ted through the stage hands door and up to the performing space. Lights flashing as all the teenage girls screamed at the doors hoping that their crushes would walk out and sweep them off their feet. The question that bloomed in Vie’s mind was would one of them be her if things turned out differently?
Inside the stadium many of the tec people and other staff members stopped and waved or said hello; Vie felt like it took forever to get to the stage. Right before they reached the door to the stage prep Vie turned to her uncle,” Where to you want me to wait?”
Her uncle gave a malicious grin and said,” Honey you’re going to come inside and meet people. Be social.” He gave her thumbs up and opened the door for her,” Go on.”
When she walked inside the room underneath the stage she found that a lot of the people in the room had stopped idling chatting and looked over at her and her uncle. One of the boys smiled,” Hey Teddy.”
Vie couldn’t tell which boy was which and she faintly heard her uncle,” Sorry I’m late you know how hard it is for a teenage girl to get ready.”
One of the other boys smiled he had dimples and blue eyes,” Oh yeah.”
A boy with blonde hair stepped forward and unlike the two that she’d heard he didn’t have a British accent but a Irish one,” Don’t scare her Harry.”
Her uncle smiled and let out a laugh but Vie very politely and absent from of mind from the room asked,” Is there somewhere I can sit?”
Her uncle went behind a stage door and got her a fold out chair then set it down , Vie silently thanked him and another boy with light brown hair smiled sweetly,” Where’s my chair oh Teddy boy?”
Ted smiled and leaned in,” You don’t need a chair Louis, you need to start practice.”
The boy Louis smiled and placed his arm around the boy named Harry,” Come on Style’s I am done with the way they treat me here.”
“Boo bear, I think they need us here. And the lady over there is pretty nice looking.” Harry winked a few times at Violet in the corner and then walked to where the rest of the boys were.
The first half of the rehearsal went mostly like that, Vie had to admit the boys where pretty good but she stayed to herself moving to one of the smaller rooms outside the small under stage room. She grabbed her journal and a pencil out of her bag and began to scribble furiously at the pages.
It was a secret what she was writing but anyone could tell it was probably a diary of some kind. She made sure that no one else was seeing anything she wrote.
When break for the boys occurred in the room over Ted went up to all five of the boys and asked,” Hey guys can I get you to do a favor for me.” They all nodded, a few of them most likely thinking that this was going to be a prank. That was surprising though because Ted wasn’t much of a prankster and the boys knew that,” You know the girl with me.” The boys nodded and Harry winked,” Her name is Vie and I was wondering if you could try and get her to have a conversation with you. Maybe get her to show a little more emotion than she is.”
All the boys smiled and walked into the room the Vie was now relaxing in, the first to come up to her had short dark brown hair and brown eyes,” Hello lovely, I’m Liam.”
The next was the same light brown hair boy named Louis,” I’m Louis.
Then came Harry the one with crazy curly hair, and the one that winked at her early,” I’m Harry.”
“Hazza.” The boy Louis corrected him.
The darker skinned and dark haired one who remained quiet when she had first seen them stepped forward and said,” Zayn.” He had beautiful brown eyes.
The last boy was the boy one from earlier with an Irish accent,” Niall.”
The together they added,” We’re One Direction.”
Vie simply held her hand out to shake each of their hands then she said,” Hello One Direction I’m Violet Rakhmelevich. I’m your manager’s niece.”
