One month past and the boys and Violet were in Union City, New Jersey right by New York City. The boys were performing a concert and Violet was having a conversation back stage with them when Niall asked,” Violet why don’t you sing for us? I mean we have sung for you plenty of times, it’s your turn now.”
“No I don’t sing.”
“Don’t be embarrassed love, Lou could sing when we met him either.” Harry spoke
Then he slung his arm around Louis who gaped, “Excuse me.” But Harry just shrugged his shoulder and Niall held back a laugh.
“I don’t sing.”
“Afraid we’ll laugh are you?” Zayn said, he was sitting across to her. His big brown eyes focused directly at her.
Violet repeated with almost no emotion,” No I don’t sing.”
Liam noticed something was up and asked,” Vie are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” Violet smiled a fake smile to prove it but the boys could see through her,” Let’s change topic’s, okay?”
“No Violet why don’t you ever talk about music around us? You love music we can see it on you, figuratively and literally; you have music notes tattooed behind your ear. Why don’t you like to talk about it?” Liam smiled and leaned in toward her a little bit.
All the boys’ eyes focused on her and she cracked,” Music is just something that I’m not interested in anymore, it was my mother and I’s dream okay?” She paused and then got up moving Liam’s arm off her shoulder,” I think you boys should be getting into costume, hair, and make up. See you after the show.” With that she walked out of the room living the boys gaping at her, all of them at a loss for words including Louis.
“Up in the sky the little birds fly, down in their nest the baby birds rest.” The woman with flowing dark brown hair’s voice was smooth and beautiful, she sang to the five year old on her lap.
“Olivia I am pretty sure that is a song that you sing to wake someone up. It doesn’t work when they’re already awake.” The man with dark black hair and glittering blue eyes laughed at his wife.
“Well it was the only song I could think of and so I sang it. Our daughter loves the sound of my voice anyway don’t you my little shrinking Violet?” She looked down at her daughter who nodded her head vigorously, “See I told you.”
“That’s where your wrong wife. Everyone loves your voice, it’s too beautiful to not like. Why do you think I fell in love with you?” Mark sat down next to Olivia and their daughter Violet.
“Vie is everything okay?” Her uncle asked her worried because Violet’s eyes were getting puffy and red.
“Yeah I’m just going to go out and wait in the crowd with all the fan’s, I don’t want to be backstage tonight.”
“Okay well I’ll get you some front row seats, there are always some we live open.” Ted called to the security guard but Violet cut him off.
“No I don’t need front row I want one of the farther back seats.” Ted merely smiled at his niece and called in the ticket booth on his walkie talkie and asked for the tickets to be set.
He then told Vie,” I hope you have fun, just come back after with the meet and greet group.” Violet nodded and headed out of systematic tunnel design of back stage then out the stage hands door and into the crowded hallway.
She bought a soda and browsed the merchandise finding the most what she thought to be the weirdest things to sell for merchandise.
When the lights flickered she headed to her seat and was greeted by a familiar voice,” Violet is that you?”Vie looked around and found someone she had grown up with sitting next to her, before she could say something the girl cut her off,” Oh my gosh did you cut your hair?” The girl felt Vie’s short hair then said,” I remember when your hair touched your butt it was so long. Do you remember that?”
“Yes Ashley I do.”
“So how are you?” The girl, Ashley, paused for about a few seconds then went on to about how she was going to college in New York and blah blah about her life, not even stopping to let Violet speak. Even though Violet didn’t care much because she didn’t want to talk about her. That’s when the question appeared,” So how is your music going? I heard you got a scholarship to…”
Violet cut the girl off,” I’ve actually decided not to purse music as a career choice. I think I’m going to do something else.”
“Oh that’s too bad. If I can remember you wowed the fourth grade with you rendition of A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton in the spring talent show. I think that the principal was crying and most of the teachers. Even the kindergarteners stopped fidgeting around.” Ashley said with a smile.
“Yeah well I kind of lost my spark; I just don’t feel it anymore.” With that the lights began to dim and the girls began screaming, Ashley a long with them. The boys came on stage and sang the first set; Violet watched them scan the audience looking for familiar faces probably.
That’s when intermission came and Ashley turned to Vie,” Don’t you just love them?” Vie just nodded with a small smile,” I wonder who the mystery girl is. As long as she doesn’t take Liam or Zayn, they’re mine, I’m fine with it. Who do you think it is though?”
“Ashley I honestly have no idea who it is.” Violet said rubbing the underneath of her eye to fix the eyeliner she thought had smudged down.
“You know she kind of looks like you except she had a tattoo on by her left ear.” Ashley said as she tried to look on Vie’s left side but Vie kept shying away,” You’re not…? OMG you are!?! I know someone who knows ONE DIRECTION! Can you introduce me please?”
“Ashley I’m not really on speaking terms with them, the only reason I have picture with them is because I was fangirling over them and I managed to get into pictures with them.” Violet said with a smile, which worked at least she thought.
“Well what about when Zayn said he knew you in Washington DC and your relationship is complicated.” Ashley said with a matter-of-fact look; wow she was a stalker.
“I’ll see but on one condition you can’t tell anyone I’m the one who is with One Direction, okay?” Violet said, and Ashley nodded so surprised that she was going to meet One Direction,” That and you can’t talk about my past okay?”
Ashley nodded over exited and Violet took out her phone.
ME: Ted can I bring a friend to meet the boys please…
Just a few seconds later…
TED: Yeah go ahead bring back all of your friends if you want.
Violet smacked her palm to her head; of course her uncle would love for Vie to make friends again and if that require them to meet the boys. Fine by him.
