"For today we are not going to get into any lessons, but I want you to get to know your table partner." Mr. Parker says to the class. "The seat you are in will be your permanent seat for the rest of the year." He then quickly shoos us with his hands to start talking.
Regardless of dispersing my hand to hand contact, he is still a cool teacher.
I turn to face Bryce and he is already looking at me. I quietly pray for my checks not to be red.
"So are you new in town?" I ask suddenly feeling warm under his gaze.
"Ugh, yeah. My family moved here from Georgia for work during the summer."
"Ok cool," I dryly respond. Come on Cahlia you can do better than that.
"How long have you lived here?" Bryce asks turning his body completely towards me.
"Since I was a baby," I say smiling, "Santa Monica is all I know."
"I completely understand, I was born in Georgia," he says with a sad twinkle in his eye. "I'm trying to get used to the move and it helps that I'll get to play football here."
"Oh, you're on the football team?" I ask with a sense of irritation in my voice.
He lets out a small laugh and smiles when he says, "not a fan of football players huh?" He raises his eyebrow waiting for me to answer.
"I didn't mean for it to come off as an annoyance, but most of the players I've met haven't been very friendly," I say and he nods.
"Well most players aren't me," he smugly responds shifting his seat closer to mine.
Was this him flirting with me? Oh, AP English just became my favorite class.
I softly cough and take a sip of my water. What the hell is this boy doing to me? "Well, I think you should give Santa Mon a chance." "I have a feeling you will love it in the end."
He turns his head to get his water bottle out his backpack and mumbles "I hope that's not the only th..." Dammit, I didn't catch that last part.
"Is this your only AP course?" I ask both to continue the conversation, but also to know if he will be in some more of my classes.
"Nope, I'm taking three AP and one regular, you?" he asks. I whisper a small "hell yeah" under my breath.
"Nah, I'm taking all AP," I answer.
"This is already making Santa Monica a better place," he says gazing at me.
I let out a soft laugh and ask, "why?"
He simply nods and says, "because I will be seeing you a lot."
I smile at him and I already know my cheeks are red as hell.
"So, what's your next class," I ask trying to keep from saying something sexual.
"Umm," he says taking out a piece of paper that looks like his schedule. "Algebra with Mr. Smith."
"Oh, you will love him and his lessons aren't too difficult," I say looking at his schedule. "Oh, and our last class is together."
"Well I'm not good at math, that's why it's the only AP class I'm not taking," he responds with a slightly sad look in his eye.
"Don't stress Bryce, you can just find a tutor or something," I say hoping to comfort him.
Then without me even noticing, I place my hand on his shoulder. I quickly move it.
Damn his muscular shoulder was nice.
Bryce looks at me with a grin and says, "would you be my tutor if I need one?"
I let out a soft laugh. "You don't even know if I'm good at math."
"Come on Cahlia, you aren't in AP Calculus for fun," he says with a small smile.
God, him saying my name made me love it even more.
"Fine, but only if you need help, in which you might not."
"Yes, you're the best," he says quickly hugging me.
Just when I was about to respond,
*RING*RING*RING*
"I better not be late this time, but I'll see you in biology," Bryce says walking out of class.
"So, you and the new student seemed very talkative today," Mr. Parker says smugly looking at me.
"Yeah, yeah, have a good day Mr. P," I say walking into the hallway and I can hear his loud laughter down the hall.
I arrive in history and am distracted with my thoughts about Bryce that I don't even notice we have a new teacher.
Her name is Ms. Ross and she seems cool until she hands out this big ass assignment packet. I hear an echo of students' sighs including myself.
After completing the packet, I am so relieved to hear the lunch bell.
*RING*RING*RING*
I begin my journey to lunch and walk into my friends standing in the hallway.
"Hello lovies," I say as we make our way to the lunch line. As we make our way down the line I decide to pick up a salad.
"Oh, look at you being healthy," Coco says and I just smile at her before saying, "the salad is harder to ruin for what I'm about to do."
They all look at me curiously as we leave the cashier.
"Hmm, I don't feel like sitting next to the trash today so...," I say starting to walk towards the table in the middle of the lunchroom and sit down.
"Aww, this is better."
Nova, Coco, and Reid hesitate for a second and then quickly sit down.
"We are seriously going to cause some shit by sitting here," Nova says looking around.
"Honestly why, the Jocks still have their table," Coco says nodding towards the Jocks table.
"Maybe because the cheerleaders and shit sit here," Reid states while eating his pizza.
"I really don't care because we are sitting here today," I state pouring honey mustard dressing on my salad. "And if they have a problem, I'm here to address it."
They all give me a proud smirk and I'm about to eat my salad when I hear a girl scream from behind us. We all turn around a see a group of cheerleaders standing at the table.
Wait the HBIC is missing.
I soon turn around and see Sabrina walking into to the lunchroom holding someone's hand. When I look closer I see that it's Bryce and he is holding her stuff.
Damn Bryce. I was hoping you weren't basic.

Now, who loved Bryce as much as I loved him...before the lunchroom part. I wonder what Sabrina will do when she sees Cahlia and her friends sitting at her "table"? Regardless, Cahila is not going to back down without a fight. Please make sure to VOTE, FOLLOW, and COMMENT on this story if you liked it. Also, I'm going to try uploading 2 parts every other day, but you will defiantly get at least 1.
*Dedication* I am dedicating this part to the amazing Katie Cruz. Her book "What Vincent Wants" is perfectly written and I enjoyed it a lot. Make sure you check that out if you haven't read it already.
