We arrive at Rodrick's house and there are cars all the way down the street. Nova finds a space between two cars that are big enough for her Beetle. We all get out of her car and we can hear the music coming from the house all the way down the block. We begin walking towards the front of the house.
"We have to get them drunk as hell if they aren't all ready," Nova says as we get closer to the house. "Wait, we're drinking, also right?" Coco asks. "I mean it is a party right, as long as we can handle our liquor," I say smirking at Reid. "You know what, fuck you, I can handle my drinks," He says and we all burst out laughing. "Yeah, sure you can," Nova replies.
We stop by the front gate and hand the gatekeeper our tickets. We all stop as we reach the front door after walking through the gate. "Ready?" I ask looking at them. They all nod and I open the front door. The scent of alcohol and weed hits my senses all at once. As soon as we enter the room everyone stops and looks at us. They eventually turn away when another song starts playing.
"Holy shit, what was that?" Nova asks whispering in my ear. "I have no idea, but I need a drink after that stare down," I whisper back in her ear. We all make a chain with our hands and start walking towards where I think the kitchen would be located.
Thankfully I was right and we see a whole layout of bottles and shot cups. We all lean on the counter and Reid hands out the cups. "Vodka?" I ask holding up the bottle and they all nod. I pour four shots and we take them all back together. Feeling the need for liquid courage, I pour myself two more shots and take them down quickly. I feel the alcohol surging through my veins and it feels amazing.
"Let's go dance," Nova says and before we can even reply she is pulling us towards the dance floor. We softly push through people and land in the middle of the crowd. "OMG, I love this song!" Reid says. Chris Brown's "Party" was playing and it's the perfect tune for how I'm feeling. I get lost in the music when I feel a tight grip on my waist. I turn around to see Rodrick smiling at me.
He was so close to getting punched, but then I remembered why I'm here.
"I'm glad you could make it," he says leaning down whispering in my ear. I can smell the strong stitch of alcohol on his breath and he is barely able to stand. "Yeah same," I simply respond wanting his hands off my waist. "Do you want another drink." I nod my head and he grabs my hand leading me back to the kitchen.
"I'm going to make you one of my specialties," he says mixing different types of alcohol in a cup. He then adds some cranberry juice and hands me the cup. I take a sip and this shit is strong but good. "It's good," I say and he smiles proudly. "So, who all do you actually know at this party?" I ask and he just laughs and wobbles closer to me. This dude cannot handle his liquor and it is slightly funny. "I think the whole town is here," he says leaning against the wall next to me.
Rodrick begins talking and I zone out when I see this blond-haired girl in the corner all over Bryce. He hasn't noticed me looking yet, but he seems uninterested in the blond. I laugh quietly under my breath before looking back at Rodrick. "Hey, can you tell me where is the bathroom," I ask Rodrick tired of listening to his rambling. "Yeah, there is one upstairs on the left." I tell him I'll be right back and make my way from the kitchen and up the stairs.
The upstairs is very spacious and I'm surprised to see so many family pictures. In all the pictures the smiles seem forced and it reminds me a lot of my family. I hear some slight moaning coming from one of the rooms and my curiosity draws me to the sound.
As I get closer, the voices become louder. I stand next to the door the sound is coming from. I slowly turn the nob and am shocked to discover that it wasn't locked.
