I let out a sigh of relief as the bell rang. I exited Calculus and made my way towards the cafeteria. I sat down at our usual table but I didn't see Madison and Travis there. "Where are the lovebirds?" I asked Aiden. "Must be on one of their lunch dates." I sat next to Wendy and took out my lunch. I looked around the cafeteria and caught Nathan staring at me. We looked at each other for a few moments before he smiled at me. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked away.
I hadn't talked to Nate for a long time, so why was he acting weird all of a sudden? I shrugged it off and finished my lunch. I waved goodbye to Aiden and started walking towards Geography. "Liv!" I turned around and faced him. "What do you want Nathan?" "I.... I just wanted to say hi." I scoffed. "You only talk to me if you need something so why don't you just spit it out."
I looked at him as he looked at the ground. "I need to get to class. So if you want something, better say it now." He finally looked up at me. "I'm failing science." "So?" He sighed. "Coach said he won't let me play unless I pass." I stayed silent, waiting for him to continue. "So I was kind of hoping you would tutor me?" I laughed. "You're kidding me. You haven't talked to me properly in two years Nathan. Do you seriously think I'm going to help you?"
He looked at me, his blue eyes filled with guilt. "I know and I'm sorry Liv. But I really need this. You know how much Soccer means to me." I did know. One, because I was his best friend and two, because I couldn't live without Soccer either. "Why don't you ask someone else? I'm sure many girls will be more than willing to help you out." I said, referring to his groupies. "But they just want to sleep with me. I want someone who isn't trying to get in my pants and plus, you topped Science last semester."
I thought about it. This was a bad idea. "Please Olivia. For old times' sake?" I wanted to say no, but he looked at me with so much hope. "Fine. I'll come over to yours after school gets over." His face broke out into a huge smile. "Thank you so much! I promise you won't regret this." And then he left. I was pretty sure that I was going to regret this. But how was I supposed to say no to the face I fell so hard for?
