Bzzzzzzzz.
I opened my tired eyes and turned over stiffly to look at my bedside table.

"Would you answer your phone?! Goddammit Scarlett," I hear Meg outside my door cussing. I sat up, holding in a moan and pressed decline on my phone and then read through my texts. Same old, same old. And then, I checked my voice mail.
"Scar, I don't know why I keep trying you, I'm not getting through..." Dean, again. "but Sammy needs you, he's...he's not well. Scar, we need you." I sat up in bed, waiting for him to continue...but the line went dead. I stared at my phone before jumping out of bed, falling to my knees but getting right back up and walking through the darkness until I got to the door. I opened it then turned down the hallway and swung open the door of Meg's room.
"What is it now?" she complained, tossing over and pulling the blankets up over her.
"It's Sam, he's not well." I told her.
"Okay, and?"
"We were going to help the Winchester's right? I'm ready, Meg." she sat up and stared at me distastefully.
"If you go now, they'll find you and they'll kill you. Crowley will find you and he will kill you. No, he'll torture you, turn you into the weapon he wanted you to be and then he will kill you." I flicked the lights on, nearly blinding us both as I stepped in and knelt down at her bedside.
"Meg, I promise you. I'm ready."
"What time is it?" Meg asked, half asleep from the passenger seat. I adjusted myself, trying to get a little cozier.
"Late." I responded. "Another 15 minutes or so and we'll be there."
"My ass hurts," Meg complained and I looked over at her, slumped against the window. "and my head, and my-"
"Meg, I know OK? It was a long drive. I get it, but come on, we're almost there." I say and began driving up a long, winding hill.
"You sound like a mom, practising?" she asked and I laughed heartlessly, shaking my head.
"Are you kidding me? Why would I ever want to bring a child into this," I say to her. "my parents did it to me and I'm not rewriting that. No way."
"What if you settled down?" Meg wondered. I shook my head.
"Hunters don't settle down." Finally, we were there. "Okay, we're here." I tell Meg and she sat up properly and stretched.
"Thank Satan," she gleamed and threw the car door open. "so what's the plan buttercup?"
I opened my door and we began a walk in towards the hotel. Meg's footsteps were heavy and dragged at my side.
"Finding Sam and making sure he pulls through and then getting out of there before Dean finds out we're even there, cool?" I turned to look at her and she shrugged.
"If you think you can do it go for it. I just, I don't know, I think it's a bit unrealistic." Meg said as she pushed open the door to the front lobby. I stepped in and we walked up together to the front desk. I smiled as charmingly as I could at the man.
"Hi, I'm looking for the room Sa-" and I stopped myself. Of course they would have never gave their real names when signing in. "uh, a tall kind of sickly looking man and a shorter man, would be staying in." he stared at me skeptically.
