Life was not easy for him. All his life he had to live without his parents. His mother left the world giving birth to him and soon his father left too. The only person he had was his Granny. He cherished her more than anything. He was happy as to how his life was going peacefully but little did he know it was the silence before the storm.
Night had fallen, it was raining outside so it already felt like midnight. It was that time of the day when he sat with his Granny and they had their little chat.
They heard a knock on the door.
"We never have visitors at this time." Granny muttered thoughtfully.
"Don't worry. Might be some traveller who lost his way." He assured her walking out to open the door.
A well built man stood at the door glaring at him with his piercing grey eyes.
"How can I help you?" He asked politely.
"Who is it, Kai?" He heard Granny from the back.
"Oh! Granny." The man greeted as if he knew her.
"Why are you here, Cyrus?" Granny asked in an alarming tone.
"I've come to take him." Cyrus declared with a smile.
Without wasting a second Granny slammed the door on his face.
As the boy was about to ask who that man was they heard the sound of shattering glasses. They saw men climbing in from the window.
"C'mon hurry up, Granny." The boy shouted and held her hand.
They ran towards the room. They entered the room and latched the door behind them but the glasses of that room shattered as well. The boy opened the door but they were already surrounded by men. There was nowhere for them to go now.
They were all well built men, extremely dangerous looking with strange eyes.
"Go get him." Cyrus ordered one of his men.
The man came to get the boy but the boy escaped from him but was soon caught by others.
"Don't hurt him." Granny pleaded.
"I won't. I've just come to take him back to where he belongs." Cyrus grinned.
"He belongs here." Granny yelled.
"Don't interfere in our matter, you old hag." Cyrus warned, pushing Granny away which made her fall.
With every drop of tear from her eyes, the boys anger increased. He flung away the three men who were holding him in place.
He came running to his Granny.
"Woah! Stronger than I thought." Cyrus exclaimed as he walked towards them.
The boy was furious, he went and pushed Cyrus with his complete strength which only made Cyrus flinch a little.
"O, young boy, now look at my strength." Cyrus grabbed the boy by his neck and threw him away.
He crashed on the wall and fell on the floor unable to move.
"Please let him go." Granny begged on his legs.
"What did you say?" He pulled Granny up by her hair. "Repeat."
"Plee...ssee le...et h...ii..m go...o." Granny said clearly struggling in pain.
"You want me to let him go? Okay." Cyrus grinned. "But you have to die instead." He roared gripping her hair more strongly.
"Nooo..." The boy cried from the floor unable to get up.
He tried hard but it felt like someone or something was holding him down.
"Granny.... nooo...." He shouted again.
Cyrus who was totally enjoying the sight took out a knife and stabbed it into Granny's stomach.
