Yayyy!

After their awkward and silent walk, they finally reached Mochi's but Jovie had an unsettling feeling that they were being followed. She ignored it and walked in.

"What would you like to eat, madame?" Aidan asked after they got settled on a nearby table.

"Can you stop saying those embarrassing words." Jovie said irritated.

Aidan's face was now stern and he replied. "Okay."

Jovie was scared that she made him angry and if that was the case she would never get her answers at this rate.

A few seconds later the waiter came to take the order. Aidan ordered cinnamon suger waffles and Jovie ordered honey pancakes.

After the order Jovie started. "So..."

"So?" Aidan raised his brow.

"So..." Jovie was at loss of words. She didn't know how to ask him questions as for a normal human being those question would sound crazy.

"Now is the time that you tell me everything." Jovie continued.

"And why would I tell you everything?" Aidan asked, still his face stern.

Jovie studied his face. "Okay. So just tell me... how do you know me in the first place?" She asked carefully.

"Hm... How I know you?" He repeated her question. "I've seen you many times near the lake." He answered after a pause.

Jovie was unhappy with his answer. "But that wouldn't reveal my name."

He lowered his voice. "You remember what I am?"

The memories of his true self replayed in front on Jovie. "But why are you here?" Jovie asked confused about the connection he was trying to create. "I mean you should be in heaven right?"

He was rephrasing the sentences in his mind to make her understand better and reveal less. He, of course wanted her to know everything but it was not the right time.

"Let's come back to how I know you." He said looking into her eyes. "You were right, I am a stalker." He confessed, leaving Jovie speechless.

"But... but why would you stalk me?" Jovie asked with shaky voice.

Her fear increased after hearing what he had just said. She was trying to stay calm and not to expose herself but her slight tremble was enough for Aidan to know she was scared.

"Because... you looked miserable..." Aidan started.

"What do you mean?" Jovie asked offended.

"Let me complete my sentence, darling." He stressed on that word and it made Jovie silent. "Two years back, one night I saw you near that lake, miserable and hopeless. You were holding a blade in your hand, about to kill yourself. It made me curious as to what caused such an innocent and beautiful to face to take this step. I wanted to know what made you that way. I wanted to ease your pain because looking at you like that hurt my heart."

"You were the one who saved me that night." Jovie said with her eyes wide open trying to digest his words.

"Yes. And that's when I got interested in you and started stalking you." He said the word stalking with a smile.

"You saved me the other night too?" Jovie knew the answer but just wanted to make sure she was right.

"Oui." He said simply after the waiter placed their order on the table.

Jovie was unsure what it meant so she asked. "That means yes, right?"

Aidan just nodded.

It was all making some sense now but Jovie wanted to know everything. She noticed that something was forbidding Aidan to reveal everything.

"Who was the other man that night?" Jovie asked looking down at her pancake. "And how do you know Mr. Warren?"

"Well... I just... Don't..." Aidan was trying to find right words to tell Jovie. "Don't trust him, Jovie."

"Last night... Before you rescued me, Mr. Warren confessed few things to me." Jovie said in almost inaudible voice.

"What did the bastard tell?" His hazel eyes blazing with anger.

It was the the first time Jovie saw him like that in her full consciousness, taking into consideration the events from last night.

As much as Jovie wanted to share it with someone, she also wanted to know his truth. "I can't tell you." She simply replied.

Aidan's face showed slight irritation to her statement. It was unlike him to potray any emotion other than a cheerful mask.

"Please tell me." His voice toned down now as if he was trying to stay calm but the urge in his voice was not unnoticeable.

"He liked-"

"Hey... Hey... What's mine doing here?" Jovie was interrupted by a voice.

She saw a guy, whom she recognized as Felix walking in their direction. She noticed a slight smirk on his face as he saw Aidan and Aidan's face was now tensed.

"Am I interrupting a date?" Felix asked with a pout.

"No it's not a date." Jovie replied trying to stay as calm as possible.

Though it's more important than a fucking date.

He got himself seated beside me and that's when Jovie lost her cool.

"Excuse me?" Jovie scoffed.

"What?" Felix asked with an innocent face.

Jovie noticed that Aidan was rather calm in this situation but it was not like she wanted him to defend her.

"Do you think you're a luggage that can get settled anywhere?" Jovie snapped.

"Oh my my, darling. Look at that angry face." He sweet talked.

Aidan balled his fists and clenched his jaws. The goldens in his eyes now taking over the greens, creating beautiful flamed eyes. Dangerous yet captivating.

"Fuck off!" He growled, leaving Jovie in complete shock with his sudden change in voice and displaying a smirking Felix.

To be continued...
