"I've read the whole book about amnesia and memory loss but still have no clue about my condition. But how can I have memory loss at all?" Aidan folded his arms sitting on a black antique sofa. "Neither do I know who this house and money belong to nor how did Edric manage to escape me from there. There is definitely more to it then I think. There's somebody here helping him."
He now got up on his feet and started walking towards the window. He noticed that a crow was chasing a baby sparrow.
"Poor baby sparrow. Gonna loose it's youth." He murmured as he noticed something else.
A lady was peeking inside his house. She looked like she was in her mid twenties, wearing strange black hoodie covering her face. She looked suspicious.
Aidan's eyes brightened on the thought that she might know something about him. He walked out as fast as he could but that lady was already gone.
"Damnit! I missed her."

Two days had passed since Jovie's father's death and the unusual night incident. She was still confused as to how did she wake up in her own bed when she clearly remembers going near the lake.
Many people had gathered as it was Jovie's father's funeral today. They showed their concerns but the disturbing thing was people don't show their concerns until something bad happens. They remorse only for a day or an hour and forget everything later.
But the fact that Jovie was now an orphan was killing her. She badly wished to see her mother.
She stood there remembering all those happy days she had spent with her parents before everything had fallen apart. Unknowingly a tear rolled down her cheek but Lucy and Ethan always stood by her side and wiped all her tears and she was grateful for that.
Mrs. Warren came and hugged her. She always treated Jovie like her own daughter and Jovie liked her a lot.
Mr. Warren looked quite strange today as well. He had wounds on his face as if he had a fight with somebody. Though the wounds were not fresh, they looked painful.
He came and gave Jovie a hug. It was more like he squeezed her. Jovie felt something strange about his touch and pushed him away quickly.
She saw a familiar face in the crowd.
Aidan? What is he doing here?
She started walking towards him but was stopped by Mr. Warren and saw Aidan walking away.
"Jovie, are you alright? You don't look too good." Mr. Warren asked putting his arms around her shoulder.
Jovie was clearly uncomfortable by his action.
"I am fine." She replied slightly pushing his arms away.
"Bonjour." She heard a voice from her right and immediately turned to face Aidan.
"Hey." Jovie pushed Mr. Warren's hand and walked towards Aidan.
She noticed Mr. Warren didn't look quite happy seeing Aidan.
Aidan immediately hugged Jovie surprising both Mr. Warren and her.
Jovie could literally feel her heart hammering inside her chest. She felt hundreds of butterflies dancing in her tummy but what surprised her more was that she didn't feel awkward about this hug. Infact it strangely satisfied and calmed her.
As soon as they pulled from the hug Mr. Warren clenched his jaws and said. "I'll see you later, Jovie." Giving Aidan a deathly glare before walking away.
She looked at Aidan still feeling her heavy heartbeats and before she could ask him anything he said. "I am sorry for your loss. If you need any help you can always ask me. I am always there for you."
Jovie noticed there was strange concern and pain in his eyes. He looked genuinely sad and it made her forget that he had hugged him without her permission and he had also indirectly saved her from Mr. Warren's lecture.
"It was you that night, wasn't it?" Jovie blurted out, amusing Aidan.
"Which night? Where?" He asked playing dumb.
"You were the one signing that night." She murmured doubtfully.
He leaned closer to her and whispered. "Yes. It was me.
Jovie's heartbeat was fast again by his closeness but she was confused at the same time. She didn't think he would admit it so easily.
Just as she was about to shoot further questions, Lucy called her.
She saw Ethan and Lucy walk towards her.
"Here you are. I searched you everywhere and who is this hottie?" Lucy asked, immediately regretting her words in such situation.
But the reaction on Ethan's face made Jovie smile.
"He's Aidan." Jovie introduced.
"Hey Aidan! I am Lucy. Nice to-"
"Ahem. I didn't know you had other friends apart from us." Ethan cut Lucy off, looking at Jovie.
"We just met few times at library." Aidan answered immediately before Jovie could answer.
"Well, I am Ethan." Ethan introduced himself formally and looked at Jovie. "We need to talk."
"Then see you guys later." Aidan smiled.
Lucy waved at him acting as if she was hypnotized by him and Ethan pulled down her hand angrily.
**
"You are hiding something from us, aren't you?" Ethan asked Jovie suspiciously.
"No it's nothing." Jovie lied because she didn't want them to worry and admit that she sneaked out late at night.
Ethan studied Jovie for a second and replied. "He seems like a nice guy but never put your guard down. First get to know him properly then you can move further."
Huh? What is he talking about?
"I'd say go for it babe don't be too late. He's hotter than fire." Lucy babbled.
Ethan looked at her with scowl and walked away.
What the hell is wrong with them? I don't even know him.
To be continued...
