Forever and Always! (Mentally Beautiful Sequel!)

Chapter 8: The hospital

When they found Nate he was surrounded by a giant puddle of blood. It was down his nose and mouth. They checked his pulse. Nothing...... Hazel was in the room.

"Sorry but your friend is..... Dead...." The paramedic said and hazels heart skipped a beat.

'Oh no! Zander is gonna be so miserable! And I didn't really know Nate but he was like a little brother to me considering I am an only child.... How will I tell Zander?' Hazel thought.

It took them at least 15 minutes for 3 paramedics to get the chuck of ceiling off of Zander. They said his heart was beating, his arm was seriously sliced, his mouth has marks, and he could have broken 2 ribs and his wrist. When they got him on the stretcher he moaned with pain. "It's okay Zander... I'm here.... And we will get you home as soon as we can!" Hazel whispered as she climbed into the back of the ambulance with Zander.

Piper got put on a stretcher and put in the back of an ambulance too. Connor went in the back and held her hand. 'He could have killed her... Me being shy for so long could have costed me Piper...' He thought slipping his hand threw hers. As they took Nate out on a body bag Connor and Hazel both had to look away.

At the hospital they hooked Zander to some machines and told Hazel that she needs to be quiet... Because of all those injuries he could have a headache... So she just sat there watching him. He looked so perfect... So peaceful. Gorgeous!

They put Piper on a bed and et her rest. But as soon as she touched that bed she was awake. "Piper... You have a concussion, so you are staying overnight..." The doctor said. She nodded. She looked around.

"Where is Nate? Is he okay?" Piper asked and Connors heart sank... He didn't know if he should tell her yet. But he won't, he can't put her through stress.

"Nate just isn't here right now. But at least I'm here..." Connor said leaning into her and kissing her forehead. Then she nodded. The doctors told her to go back to sleep and get some rest.

Hazel was playing around in the room bored out of her mind. Then the doctor came in. "Hello Hazel?" He asked and she nodded. "Okay well Zander definitely has a concussion, umm. A bad slice mark from what looks like a razor, his mouth was stitched together and then they were pulled out. He had 2 broken and 1 fractured ribs.... And he had a sprained wrist." The doctor said and Hazel was surprised... She had never heard of so many injuries at once. Zander kept moving and then whimpering with pain. But, a ceiling piece that weighs about 1,000 pounds could do that to someone! So Piper and Zander had to stay overnight, and Hazel and Connor were staying with them.

At 10:00 p.m. Hazel went back into Zander's room from visiting Piper. She was very tired, but she didn't bring any pjs so she was gonna haft to wear her regular clothes. She scrunched in next to Zander on the hospital bed. He didn't wake up, not at all. So she put her head on his shoulder, and fell asleep.
