Amy's POV
"Tomorrow is do or die Amy." George said as he was pacing around his bedroom as I leaned against the door frame.
"I'm aware of that and like I told you before your gonna give it all you got. Your not a baseball god George. Win or lose your still George Springer. A man who continues to hustle on the field and also being a motivation to many kids who stutter." I said.
"Yeah I know babe but I want to and the guys agree with me on this to, we want to be in the world series, win, and bring home the championship for Houston. After the hurricane, the guys and I want nothing more than to bring home the championship to the city.
"And we all love you for that but win or lose we are gonna stand behind you guys always. Besides you guys have been doing a lot for us. That alone shows what kind of team you are. The Astros are phenomenal and humble. So just know you'll have a city that'll love you whatever the results but don't also forget that you have a someone who is extremely proud of you and will be behind you in every step of the way."
"Thanks Amy. You have ways for making me feel better." George said then finally stopped pacing and laid down on the bed.
"I'm glad I was able to help. Now I gotta ask you something." I said sitting on the bed looking down at him.
"Ask away."
"So I've been meaning to tell you this but me being me and having a lot on my mind, I forgot. My tio and tia are wanting to celebrate their 25th anniversary with a wedding and I was wondering. Would you be my plus one?" I asked.
He grabbed my hand giving it a gentle squeeze then responding. "I'd be happy to be your plus one. I do have one question though, why did they want to celebrate it now versus doing a 50th anniversary wedding?"
"Well they wanting to do it now because their afraid that there not gonna make to 50 years. Not fear of separation. Fear of losing each other through death."
"I see. So when is it?" George asked.
"It's going to be the first Saturday of December."
"Well I look forward to spending that special evening with you. George said sitting up and gave me a peck on the cheek and made his way towards his dresser to gather his sleep clothes.
"I know the procedure, I'll let you change into your comfort clothes in the bathroom while I change in here. I'll meet you downstairs and when your done we can decide on a movie." George said as he opened his bathroom door for me and moved aside for me to step in and he shut the door behind me.
I was about to change out of my pants and I was grabbing my phone to set it on the counter so it wouldn't fall on the floor when I had seen that I had 4 missed calls from the same phone number. If it's that important they'll call again and just like that, the same number was calling again. So I answered.
"Hello?"
"Amy thank God I was.finally able to get a hold of you." The other voice said on the line. It took me a couple seconds to realize who it was.
"Eva?" I asked
"Yeah ma it's me." Eva said but I couldn't help but notice a bit of distress in her voice.
"Are you alright?"
"No. That's actually why I called because this just happened not to long ago."
"What happened Eva? Is it my dad? Did he hurt you?" I asked worried. My father's an enigma so you never know.
"No. He hurt himself. Amy your father is in the hospital. He suffered a mild stroke." She said as she started crying.
I can't really explain what I'm feeling right now. Obviously worry, but at the same time being in debate of weather to feel that or not. After all I did disown him as my father. I sat down on the toliet and supported my head with my hand
