Weak (Camren)

With a plethora of medication and several boxes of tissues, both Lauren and Camila defeated their colds and were back to normal in no time. Now that their health was back, the pair tried to find time for their date. Key word: tried. 

Unfortunately, now that Camila's secret famous life was out in the open, the model had to com[promise her hidden life to go across the country for photo shoots. As of right now, Camila is in LA for her new partnership with GUESS. 

"Laur, are you even just a little bit upset? I mean, the girl is constantly going to be somewhere else." Normani tried to pry her friend's real feelings out of her. She seemed to be holding her wall up too high now. 

"Mani, I'm serious. I'm not even mad. This is her job, and whether I like it or not, I have to deal with it. If anything, I'm happy for her. I knew she was pretty enough to be a model when I first laid eyes on her. Little did I know, she was already a model. Its fitting, really." 

"Okay, but like, isn't it gonna get old?" 

"Doesn't matter. I actually like her a lot already." 

Normani wiggled her eyebrows as she sipped her coffee. "Love?" 

"Hell no. I mean, I don't want that to sound wrong or anything, but we did practically just meet. Its only been a few months or so. Its gonna take a little bit more time than that for me to fall in love with her." 

"Aw, look at you. All grown up and stuff. Its kinda nice to see that for a change," the dark-skinned girl said. "I'm gonna be honest, you went through that 'fuck any girl I see' phase. But its nice to see you settling down." 

Lauren rolled her eyes and set down her cup on the table. "You could barely call it that. It was only like, three girls. But nice try." 

"Whatever. Back to Camila. So, is her ex still stalking her or did the popstar give up?" 

"To be completely honest, I have no idea. Camila hasn't mentioned anything about her so I can only assume nothing's happened with her. But who knows, maybe she isn't telling me." 

"Well she better tell you if she is. That'd be kinda rude of her if she didn't. "

Lauren shrugged and took another sip of her coffee. "Its not really up to me, I guess. If she doesn't want to tell me then she doesn't have to. I'm not really worried about it. You know I'm not the jealous type." 

Normani sat back in her seat in the small booth of the coffee shop. She seemed to be deep in thought while playing with the rings on her finger. She turned back to Lauren and gave her a small smile. "I just don't want you to get hurt, Laur. You're my best friend. I'd hate to see you go through what you did with K-... her. What happened with her." 

"You can say her name, Mani. Keana is out of my life forever. What she did was fucked up, but I'm over it. I'm over her. What Camila and I have... its weird. Its new, but I'm ready for new. I deserve it." Lauren took the last sip of her coffee and set the mug aside. As if on cue, her phone lit on the table with a text notification. 

"I'm guessing by the smile on your face that it's Camila?" 

Lauren indeed had the biggest grin on her face. She looked like a kid in a candy shop who's parents said they can pick whatever they want and how much. "Yeah, it is." 

"What does it say?" 

"She said she can't wait till she gets back so we can go on that date she asked me on on." 

"When is she supposed to come back anyway?" 

"A week from tomorrow. Her manager wants her to get more done while she's there so she doesn't have to go back for a while." 

Normani received a text at that time that made her smile as well. She picked up her phone, completely unaware that her friend was smirking at her from across the table. She tapped away on her phone then placed her phone face down on the table when she was done. She finally looked up to see the Cuban still staring at her intently. "Oh shut your mouth." 

"So, I'm guessing by the smile on your face that it's Dinah?" Lauren mimicked what Normani has teased her about early. 

"Yes, it was. Now are you done with your coffee? I want to go shopping." 

"Yeah, lets go."

When Lauren finally decided she had enough shopping for that day, her and Normani said their goodbyes and made their separate ways home. Lauren ran into a little bit of traffic on her way home since Miami was a hellhole this time of day. By the time she made it home, the sun was already making its way behind the clouds.

She grabbed her bags from the store out of the car and made her way up the driveway. Due to the amount of bags in her hand, she struggled to open her door with the key. She was about to put her bags down when a hand overlapped hers.

"Let me help you with that." 

Lauren jumped and turned to face the random person on her property. But when she noticed who it was, a smile spread across her face. "What the fuck, Camz! I thought you were supposed to be home for another week or so!" 

"I wanted to surprise you. So, surprise!" Camila opened the door for Lauren so she could put her bags down. Once she did, the artist immediately wrapped her arms around the model and spun her around. 

"God, I missed you." 

"I missed you too, Lo." 

"So, I was promised a date when you got home." 

"For sure, but can we nap first? I'm a little jet-lagged." 

"Of course. C'mon superstar."

I KNOW ITS BEEN A WHILE AND THIS CHAPTER WAS SHIT, BUT I CAN EXPLAIN!

So this semester has been kicking my ass. For some stupid fucking reason I took AP Chemistry which I absolutely suck at. I've never gotten an F on my transcript, but I think this class is going to give me just that. I just can't get the grade up at all. And I have a ton of college shit I have to do, so I apologize that its been really slow on the updates. 

I can't promise I'm going to update more because that would be a lie. Obviously I'm going to try my best, but finding time is the difficult part. Also, I kinda got stuck in writers block. The times I did sit down to write something, I just couldn't think at all. That's why this chapter is so shitty, so my b.
