Deku's Fall to Darkness

Chapter 5

After all this training Midoriya has finally gotten to the day he had been waiting for the day of the entrance exams for U.A. As he enters through the gates to the school he begins to walk to where the explanation of the exams is.

With a determined look in his eyes he continues forward until he sees the pavement speed towards his face then stop. "Are you okay? It'd be a bad omen if you fell on your face right before the exam." Midoriya looks up to a very pretty brunette smiling at him and touching his back. He then realizes he is floating slightly off the ground and starts freaking out.

The brunette giggles. "My name is Uraraka Ochaco. What's your name?"

As he stabilizes himself firmly on his feet he says "M-midoriya Izuku. If you don't mind me asking was that a gravity quirk you have?" Acting super excited as he thinks of all the possibilities she would have as a rescue and combat hero.

"Yes, but we should probably start heading to the auditorium before the explanation starts." She finishes as Izuku feels a killer intent as he sees his childhood friend Bakugou walking towards him.

"Move fucking Deku." He pushes Midoriya down ignoring the girl who sees this situation.

Midoroya falls to the ground. He looks at Uraraka and smiles "Guess it was destiny for me to end up on the ground."

Uraraka looks at Midoriya. "Who was that asshole? Why did he push you?"

Midoriya looks down. "His name is Bakugou he was my childhood friend turned tormentor. If you watched the news a few months ago about that unnamed kid who took a swan dive from the roof that was me pushed to it by him." He says on the verge of tears.

Uraraka hugs the boy and looks at him. "Don't worry someone like him will never be a hero people will look up to." Midoriya tenses up slightly as she hugs him not used to any comfort from people who aren't his mother.

When she releases him he lets a small shockwave out of his hands which pushes dust around them. "Woah what was that?" The girl asked.

"My quirk is a shockwave quirk that activates when I tense up. The power is affected by how much I tense up." Midoriya goes red.

"Well that is pretty cool." Uraraka says while winking and giving a thumbs up. She looks at the time and looks panicked. "Well we have about 2 minutes before the explanation so we better hurry." They run to the explanation.

10 Minutes later

Present Mic finishes the explanation. "Any questions?" He asks before immediately Midoriya raises his hand. "Yes?"

"This exam seems to favour combat quirks what about people who would be better suited to rescue and support wouldn't the school miss out on the potential of amazing quirks for those areas of heroism?" Midoriya asks.

"Well maybe next year we can devise a way to help all areas of quirks for the exam. Thank you for the insight." Present Mic says. "If that is all we can head to the arenas." He finishes as one more potential student raises his hand. "The pamphlet said there is four robot villians yet you only mentioned 3. Is this a mistake?"
"This was intentional as the fourth robot is worth 0 points and is more designed to be an obstacle. With all the questions answered lets head to the arenas."

As they arrive at the arenas Midoriya notices that Bakugou isn't there. "Multiple arenas to separate those would know each other to prevent teaming up to pass." He notices that the pretty girl is in this arena with him. As he walks over to her he feels a hand on his shoulder, he immediatly tenses enough to be able to push someone away and aims his hands back and releases the force.
"That was shocking why'd you attack me?" A voice coming from a relatively well built boy with glasses asks. "I'm sorry it was an instinct." Midoriya says as he picks the boy up from his position on the ground. "Well I was coming to stop you from talking to that girl otherwise she may lose focus." He says and walks away right after. "I'm sorry." Midoriya says one last time before the exam begins.

As he enters he begins tensing as much as he can quickly to take out a horde of robots that begins approaching from the side. "That should be 24 points." He says counting the robots apart of the horde mainly consisting of 1 point robots and a few 2 pointers. Just as he finishes he feels tremors in the ground as a massive robot turns a corner reducing the building by its hand to rubble. He notices the others running away and he begins to go for a full power tense to release enough power to escape to the other side of the arena behind the goliath 0 pointer. He then notices in some of the rubble the girl who had saved him. He rushes towards her not releasing any tension. And as he gets to the robot's feet he slides underneath and releases all the energy with a howl of pain as he feels the muscles in his arms rip apart.

Uraraka sees the boy do this and hears what could only be described as a building sized book being torn in half. Followed by the sound of metal being crumpled and destroyed.

The teachers look at the monitor as the boy sacrifices everything to save the stranger and tears the robot in half from the bottom up.

The boy feels the muscles in his arms regenerate fairly quickly compared to his first time using his quirk at what would only be 5% of his current power. As soon as he is done regenerating he uses his quirk to precisely clear the rubble from the girl. He then runs to find a few more robots behind the massive rubble of the former goliath. Then he hears the voice of Present Mic signifying the end of the entrance exam.

As he leaves the school to go home he thinks to himself that should be enough points to make it in. He then is comfronted by his father on the way back to his house.

"We need to talk." His father says with a defeated look in his eyes. Unbeknownst to Midoriya his father is slowly dying.

AUTHORS NOTES: I hope this chapter was worth the wait i plan on another chapter to be out within the next few hours and I hope you can forgive me for having to delay this chapter due to a balance of work and the need to rest after some stress i experienced due to a combination of work and school.
