Kind, gentle, full of light. He sets her heart on fire when she stares into his stormy blue eyes. He makes her laugh and forget her woes, she can't help the smile that crosses her light pink lips every time she thinks of him. He makes her happier than she's ever been, she hangs on to every word he says and he actively listens to her. His face lights up at the sight of her.

She thought the other was a good man, he was cute and made her smile. But behind closed doors he morphed into someone else, someone she did not like. She flashed back to that night, 5 years old in her living room laying on that rickety old spring mattress that kinda reminded her of those old fashioned cots she saw in the old movies she loves. The stench of stale cigarettes and the smell of alcohol fill her nostrils as fear travels down her spine, she begged for him to stop but the man continued the assault. She flashed back to reality, to the boy jamming his tongue down her throat and slipping his hand down her pants.

She had to get out of there, she makes an excuse and runs from the room finding comfort in her roommate's arms. The gentleman was there for her, he brings her paper towels instead of tissues because that was all he could find that night she went to him with tears in her eyes. He despised seeing the beautiful girl cry.

He puts others before himself. When someone has a bad day he asks if they would like to talk and doesn't pry when they decline, she finds comfort in this. You don't often find guys like this, he is one in a billion. A diamond in the rough. A gentleman.
