Sister Dear

You disappear when
I need you
The most, leaving
Me to fend
Them off on
My own, fend
Off the monsters
That have become
My closest friends

You are a
Ghost, the shillouette
Of someone I
Used to know
Haunting my dreams
Leaving me cold

Sister dear
You reappear only
When it's convenient
Enough for you
I struggle to
Be who you
Believe me to
Be, you don't
See, don't realize

That I am
Not the same
As I was
Then, I am
Different, I have
Rebuilt the damage
You created when
You left, but
Once again the
Glass ceiling has
Shattered

Sister dear
Don't you hear
Me when I
Call? Can't you
See your words
And actions affect
More than just
Your sense of
Self?

Wall, a brick
Wall separates us
Now, we are
Strangers who used
To know everything,
But now we
Know nothing at
All

How can someone
Not see the
Effect they have
On someone else?

Sister dear
I fear that
You will not
Stay, you are
Simply passing through,
Just like all
Of those times
Before, and yet
I pray you
Don't fade away
