I woke up with the worst headache imaginable. My body ached all over as I tried to move out of my current position. It seems like every day I'm here I wake up in worse pain.

Basically prying my eyes open I finally managed and looked at my surroundings. I was in a familiar room and I automatically knew who's it was from the intoxicating smell.

Lifting myself up I pulled back the covers and tried to get out of the bed. My legs felt like they were being held down my weights.

Once I stood out of the bed and took two small steps an excruciating pain shot through my body making me fall to the floor in a scream.

The door to Kaydon's room flew open and I knew it was him from the soothing aroma enhancing.

"Shit Sapphire why did you get out of bed?" When he brushed my hair from my face the pain immediately subsided.

"What happened?" I asked as I tried to push myself back up.

"You shifted and your body was to weak to handle it." He frowned and I just knew it was disappointment in his eyes.

"I'm sorry." I looked down at my lap and seen that I was only in a large t-shirt and self consciously I pulled it down.

"Why are you apologizing?" I didn't want to answer.

Admitting to your mate that's a powerful alpha that you're weak is by far the most embarrassing thing on my list.

"Because...." I heard a growl come from his.

"SAPPHIRE WHEN I ASK YOU A QUESTION I NEED YOU TO FUCKING ANSWER IT!!!"

I flinched from his sudden outburst and backed into the side of the bed.

He sighed and his eyes softened.

"Sapphire I'm sorry, you have to be patient with me I'm not use to dealing with someone so...." He searched his head for the right word.

"Weak?" I finished his thought for him.

"I wasn't going to say that, someone that I can't speak to as an Alpha." He moved beside me and rested his back against the bed like mine.

"But you are an Alpha." I frowned not grasping what he meant.

"Yeah, but I shouldn't be to you." I heard the sincerity in his voice.

His eyes wandered to my thighs where he had healed my scars. He began tracing them with his finger. The same sparks shot through me.

"Do you feel it too?" I finally asked the question that been clawing in my head.

"Feel what?" His question was distant like he was completely engrossed in the rigid lines across my thighs.

"The feeling when we touch?" His hand paused above my leg and I immediately regretted being curious.

"I have to go, my 2nd in command is mind-linking me." He got off the floor and walked to the door. "Your parents are here, the maid will come and help you get dressed." He talked to me facing the door then abruptly walked out.

Every time it seems like we're getting close he pulls back. It shouldn't sting so much every time but it does.

Shortly after he walked out the maid came in.

She helped me get dressed since I was too weak to do it on my own. My body still ached like I had been in a train crash.

I brushed my teeth and hair then met her by the door. She draped my arm over her shoulder and walked me out.
