#6

Even though Tilly wasn't very happy about it, our whole family had made an agreement that we weren't going to wake up before nine o'clock on Christmas morning. Luckily that was what happened. Unluckily, I was woken up my Tilly jumping on me at five past nine in the morning screaming that it was Christmas.

I sat up rubbing my eyes, moaning and yawning, wishing Tilly a happy Christmas too. I got out of bed, slipping on a hoodie since it was cold and some track suit bottoms since I didn't think my family would appreciate me wandering around the house in my boxers. Tilly and I walked into our parents' room who were sat up too. They both wished us a merry Christmas before getting up themselves, wrapping up warm like Tilly and I had. We all walked downstairs, my dad turning on the Christmas tree so the fairy lights made different shapes of light on the walls creating an atmosphere. The room was littered with presents, they were almost everywhere. Under the tree, the sofa and coffee table - even some on top of the TV and our stockings too, presents covered them.

Firstly we all each got our stockings which were filled with one thing from each of us. I had given Tilly an Elsa figurine which she had immediately fallen in love with as soon as she opened it, I had given my mum some stereotypical chocolates seeing as she was a chocolate fiend and my dad some Harry Potter themed socks which were blue and silver for Ravenclaw which as the house he was in. I'd done the test myself and was in Slytherin which honestly I didn't mind, Draco was pretty hot to be honest. From Tilly I had received a hand-made love heart bauble which she'd said she had made in art at school. After her insisting I had put it up on the tree after giving her a hug. I then got a large multi pack bag of Maltesers from my mum and my dad had given me Fall Out Boy's Save the Rock and Roll album since I'd wanted it for so long. My other presents were ones I'd received from other family members and friends from school. Most of them were music related although my grandma had bought me a really nice black eclipse shirt. I'd even received a Christmas card from Phil reading;

 Merry Christmas Danny Boy, I'm looking forward to our skiing holiday ;) xx

I didn't show my parents the message and just made it up, slipping into the pocket of my jumper. I had given him a card too but it was as 'friendly' as his. Plus, my mum made me write him one because she felt it was rude that I didn't. My mum cooked us a large brunch that morning including bacon, sausages and large fried eggs. Tilly and I had used up most of the tomato ketchup which my dad wasn't pleased about in the end but he didn't have a go at us about it. Afterwards we got dressed into a more 'formal' attire and watched most of the Christmas movies together. My mum and I were most looking forward to the Christmas special of Doctor Who which the BBC had made. Considering the massive whovian my mum was she wouldn't stop going on about it until she decided to get dinner ready before her parents arrived to have Christmas dinner with us as they did every year. I had texted Louise telling her a merry Christmas even though we had gotten each other cards and presents but hey, I was being a good friend. In the end she ended up calling me and we spent about an hour talking before she had to leave because her parents said she needed to have dinner with them which was understandable. In all honesty, I didn't feel in a very Christmasy mood since for some reason there were rays of sun bursting throughout the windows but after a while Tilly had gotten me to play some board games with her which she'd gotten from 'Santa'. While the Turkey was cooking we got mum to join in with me, Tilly and dad. I ended up winning the game in the end which concluded with a large victory dance around the living room.

Later on in the day our doorbell rang and I got up, opening our Doctor Who themed door finding my grandparents stood there smiling holding a bag which contained more presents.

"Oh Daniel you've grown so much!" My grandma exclaimed, pulling me into a hug which I had to bend down in since my grandma was a small woman.

"Merry Christmas Grandma," I smiled, standing up and shaking hands with my grandad who patted my back.
