……………………………….Georgianna looked around the new apartment she picked. She cast every protective spell she knew upon it, ensuring that this time, no one would find her. Then she took her cloak, pulling the hood deep into her face and casted the Disillusionment Charm upon herself. No one could see her on the trip she was about to make.
Opening the door to the balcony, she looked down at the street, waiting for the precise moment when it was clean of random passersby. When that moment came, she took a deep breath and jumped, waving her wand just before her feet touch the ground.
Arresto momentum.
She hated this sort of departure but it was the safest one at the moment. Who would ever suspect her to risk jumping of the balcony?
Under the protection of the charm, she walked down the street, picking an ordinary Muggle restaurant and walked in, Disapparating from the corner farthest from the entrance. It took only couple of seconds to feel cold wind in her face as her feet fell upon a soft grassy field in Southern Wales. Her destination was still a mile from here but Georgianna was quite determined on walking the rest of the distance.
Enough cheating for the day.
The walk wasn’t a long one, soon she came to see the cottage she needed to visit. Coming up the stairs, she scratched and knocked on the door in a familiar, prearranged sequence. A young man opened the door and put out a cat, allowing her to slip past him.
The cottage was rather simple with its roughly worked wooden furniture and simple decorating but the looks were deceiving. Georgianna cast away the Disillusionment Charm and took of her cloak.
The young man returned from the door.
“You’re early this time,” he observed.
She looked at him with concern:
“Is that a problem?”
He frowned a little. “I’m not sure; why won’t you sit down while I check?”
She obliged and waited. The guy might have been observant but he wasn’t the person she came to see. He came back with an old woman by his side that looked at her sharply before sitting down. The colorful clothing and amount of golden trinkets that she wore would identify her as an average gypsy that spent half her life cheating Muggles out of their money but Georgianna knew better than that. It took a while before the woman spoke:
“You know the drill; I want to see your hand first.”
Georgianna offered her hand to the woman with a facing up palm. The woman took it hungrily and searched.
“The Death is upon you again.”
That’s nothing new, she thought but didn’t say anything out loud.
Upsetting a gypsy witch was always a bad idea and rejecting a palm reading was a mortal offense. On the other hand, everything that this woman has ever foretold her came true. Georgianna watched the woman shake her head.
“It is persistent this time, waiting for the proper moment… but there is no way for you to avoid it this time.”
Georgianna felt a bitter smile come to her face; she knew this day would come.
“How soon?” she asked.
The woman shook her head and fumbled along the lines of her palm:
“He’s already watching you but he doesn't have a plan yet.”
“My killer?” asked Georgianna quietly. The woman nodded.
“You’ll meet Death at his hands but whether you shall really die is still uncertain.”
