Severus grasped onto the letter Dumbledore handed him and tore it open. His eyes flew across the page like a lightning until he frowned in confusion:
“Samantha Selwynn married Thomas Smith,” he started slowly. Every day for the past three months, he hoped that Selwynn heiress married a Kendrick and had two daughters, Sabine and Lorrelaine and seeing Samantha’s marriage certificate to Thomas Smith ruined it all. Kingsley seemed to be right after all; the girl lied about her name and it was futile to look for her. Another piece of paper fell out and he read it slowly:
“A daughter… Georgianna Smith was born on August 2nd, 1967 in the Hertford British Hospital. Her birth certificate is the last record of the Smiths before they left to America where none of their records can be found.” He looked up and calculated rather quickly. “The age agrees Dumbledore,” he said. “I’m tempted to say that this is her real name…”
“Are you sure you can remain unbiased on this matter Severus?” asked Dumbledore carefully. Severus stared at him for a while: “What do you mean Dumbledore?”
“It’s not that difficult to notice that Miss Kendrick is rather pretty.”
“It’s difficult not to notice Albus,” agreed Severus and felt a pang of pain in his heart. Lorrelaine didn’t really talk to him since that day in Hogsmeade. He still saw her in meetings but judging from the fact that she still sat between Yaxley and Bellatrix and kept to herself, nothing’s really changed. He might have been a patient man when he wanted to reach something but three months was a long time to wait for someone’s decision. He would feel much better if there was some kind of a change in her behavior, like side glances or if she’d catch up with him sometimes but that never happened.
“But yes Albus,” he said slowly. “I’m capable to remain unbiased.” His thoughts still turned to Lorrelaine and he couldn’t help but to wonder where she was right now. He hoped he could find something that would convince him that the woman he loved was worth saving.

“You’re telling me that someone requested all of the records on Samantha and Thomas Smith?”
The official seemed a little nervous before answering her. “Yes ma’am. But they didn’t request it, they came to get it… there was no means of stopping them…”
“What all did they get?” hissed Georgianna and grasped her wand. The man hovered in front of her.
“They got.. their marriage announcements and birth certificate of the eldest daughter; I helped you to remove all the data that tracked them in the United States personally , remember? There was nothing more for them to find!”
Georgianna grabbed the man by the robes and pressed her wand against his heart. The adrenalin rush was here again, racing through her veins like a drug and she could tell that her condition worsened when she felt a slight tingle along her canines. The man gulped:
“Please don’t…,” he begged and eyed her.
“Maybe I will, maybe I won’t; you broke our arrangement,” she hissed at him. She paid this man an enormous sum monthly just to make sure that no one ever found the connection between Lorrelaine Kendrick and Georgianna Smith and he failed. It was unforgivable; she was glad that this man at least didn’t know her true identity but thought that she works as the family’s bodyguard.
“Who requested the information?” she asked, trying to keep herself calm.
“Auror’s Office asked for them a while ago,” whispered the man. “I kept hiding the papers, bouncing them around the offices but that big black bloke and Mad Eye Moody came down here personally… All I could do was alert you as soon as possible…”
