Let me just say, I still think Kyle is adorable. sure he's a troublemaker, but he has his moments. Feel free to tell me how you feel about him! :)

==============================

Kyle woke up not very long after falling asleep on his roommate, but he pretended that he hadn't. He didn't want to move or say anything that might make Ryan wake up and regret what he'd done. Hell, he wasn't even sure if Ryan would regret it.

To his dismay, the choice wasn't his to make. There was a buzzing coming from somewhere on the couch with them and soon a loud music began violating the peaceful setting that had befallen him. Even the rainstorm had decided to cut Kyle a break and dim down to a light pattering against the window. Yet, the hidden phone seemed utterly determined to ruin it.

"That must be Arden. I told her I'd call yesterday, but it slipped my mind," Ryan said suddenly. His eyes were open and glossy as if he'd been dreaming, but his voice was so clear that Kyle wondered if he'd been asleep at all.

Kyle growled when he saw Ryan's hand pull out the alarming phone from his pocket.

"What the hell...did you just growl...at my phone?" the dark young man asked.

"Well, you have a way of rubbing off on people. What can I say?" Kyle said, laying his head flat to hide his blushing face. When Ryan brought the phone up close to answer it, Kyle struck out and swatted it out of the man's grip. He knew he wasn't thinking straight, but he also didn't care.

"Dude, come on," he growled and finally sat up, forcing the Hawaiian to sit up as well. "I thought you liked Arden. She even defended you last time."

It never occurred to the man that his roommate might not have wanted her to get in the way of his punishment. Even Kyle wasn't fully sure of what he wanted anymore.

He was only certain that the idea of Ryan's girlfriend really irritated him. For reasons that he didn't want to think about more than he already was.

"I'm sorry. I guess your ringtone just pissed me off with how cheesy it is," he said, barely repressing a grin.

Ryan picked up the phone again and stood. "I've got to take this," he said while walking away.

Kyle had so much to think about now. After finding out that his parents were murdered for a cure that he supposedly had, his roommate went and started getting so cozy with him. He raised his head and turned to spot the unnatural blonde chatting away near the kitchen. Ryan was definitely more than just a roommate to him at this point. He'd said as much out loud, but he rarely stopped to think about how strongly his feelings had grown.

Seeing Ryan smile gently while talking to what must have been his perfect and beautiful Asian girlfriend who just happened to be an amazingly talented professional singer made Kyle want to throw up. It was literally causing his stomach to turn and he didn't like what that meant.

But it couldn't have just been him, right? They were basically cuddling a little while ago so Ryan must have felt something for him to.

"Why are you staring at me?" Ryan asked suddenly snapping Kyle out of his head. He'd hung up already and was standing firmly.

"You...you have bed-head," he mumbled back.

Ryan rolled his eyes and walked away. If it was just Kyle around, the son of Krag couldn't care less what he looked like. He shouted from the kitchen, "We're going to the mall with the girls and my little brother tomorrow. There's some kind of massive sale going on and they've got coupons."

Kyle nodded absently and laid back into the chair. He grabbed the crafter's notebook off the floor and started flipping through the newer entries. Ryan had chewed him out the first time he unraveled the lock on the private book, but he continued to do it over the coming weeks until Ryan gave up trying to hide it away. Now the private drawings were fair game for Kyle and just like everything else in that home. He'd broken through every attempt to keep him back and shattered almost every boundary.

Or maybe there were a few boundaries left standing.
