As Kion burst into the chilly music store, it was like he'd crossed a domain and entered a new world. It was one of the few shops that had already rolled in a carpet, and the maroon wool added a unique style to the room. Wooden classical, steel-strung acoustic, and electric guitars hung like tapestries along the wall to his right. A row of small electric keyboards stood propped up against the wall beneath them. On the other side, a giant harp had been placed like a divine tool for soft music. Flutes, clarinets, piccolos, and shinning red bassoons were positioned like rigid notes against the white walls of the shop.

Despite the magnificence that was Evan's Music Shop, there was no one in sight. Even the register was unoccupied. Yet, Kion knew that he'd heard a sound before and that meant people were present.

"Hello! I'm coming in," he called out and vaulted over the counter with ease. Entering the back room, he found a Brunette tying ribbons on a polished brass trumpet. Musical instruments that Kion had never gotten to lay his hands on before were all laying around the young woman in a messy circle. She'd apparently been cleaning them all to wrap up for presentation. Her hazel eyes opened wide in surprise as the dark boy in a neon blue hoodie sprung into the room.

"What the...who the hell are you? What do you think you're doing back here?" she glared at him and Kion's instinct was to flee or get into a defensive stance. But then his eyes locked on a beautiful blue steel-string guitar by her feet. His little heart rose into his chest and beat to the rhythm he imagined playing in his head.

"My name is Kion! Kion Krag. I wanted to play something but there was no one at the counter, so I just-"

"So you just let yourself in? Are you loco? You don't just barge into a back room whenever you want! There's a bell on the counter that you hit and wait for someone to come help you." She rose to her feet and approached the boy ready to chastise him thoroughly. "Not to mention the fact that the store is not even open yet. You're supposed to wait for us to open like everyone else."

She paused for a moment and thought about something.

"How did you even get in here? The doors were locked! Did you pick the locks just to get inside?" she asked incredulously.

This time, Kion did get into a more defensive stance with his body braced for a potential slap. "No- I didn't- I swear! I was excited...so I might have just broken the lock when I tried to open the door. I didn't even notice, I'm sorry." His voice carried the innocence of a normal child his age, but she wasn't having it.

"You broke my lock!? What kind of animal breaks a metal lock by..." the woman finally started taking in the situation she was now in. She noticed the startling blue eyes and dark brown skin. The foreign accent that seemed to conflict with his soft voice. Then the boy's strange name rung a bell. "Did you say your last name was Krag?"

Her eyes filled with fear as she whipped her head around and realized she was in a very small room with a viscous creature.

From the other room, they heard a man shout his name and the brunette jumped in alarm. "Who's that?"

"That must be my brothers wondering where I went. I kinda ran off on my own," he said sheepishly.

Kion had to call back before things got worse. "I'm in the back. Please wait there," he shouted. He bent down gently and picked up the blue guitar slowly. Holding it up for the woman to see, he said softly, "I just wanted to play a song to show my older brothers what I can do. I didn't mean to break anything, and I have a card with money on it to pay."

The young woman slowly realized that she was being stupid. She had heard the name Krag was for a race of demonic beasts that hunted down sinners. Yet, the kid before her was just that, a kid. Dropping her shoulders in a bit of shame, she replied, "I'm Eve. Sure, you can try it out in the shop, but if you break it you buy it."

Emotions bouncing back up in a flash, the young Krag dashed out of the room and flipped over the counter with the cerulean guitar in-hand. He arrived to find his brothers waiting with impatient faces and guessed that they were grumpy for making them wait. "Sorry guys, just listen to this!"

Kion knew that he would never be like any other kid his age. He knew that he was already too strong for him to get over excited or careless. He'd almost never be allowed to go all out and be himself. But that's why he loved getting to spend time with his brothers so much. Around them, he could go all out and impress them just by being himself. Luckily for him, steel strings don't break so easily and he could play like a maniac until everyone in the room had a smile on their face.

the twins are actually supposed to have a British accent, but I haven't figured out how to write dialogue that fits for them in that way lol
