: the one when lisa asks jennie to prom

"hey chichu!" jennie's bright smile flashed at her best friend who immediately clinged onto her, shading themselves from the sunlight with her yellow umbrella.
"good morning to you too, deukie!" jisoo enthusiastically replied.
"you going to rehearsals tonight?" jennie asked jisoo as they're walking together into the school gates.
jisoo immediately scoffed upon hearing jennie. "uh, do i even have a choice? you got us into this!"
jennie just lets out a soft chuckle upon her whining best friend.
but jisoo kept on talking. "which i clearly don't understand considering you may not be even here for the show..."
as soon as jennie heard jioo's words, all her worries upon the said matter comes crashing back. she isn't sure herself, she could only sigh.
"have you told anyone you're up for stanford's freshmen honors' program?" jisoo persistently asked.
jennie just clicked her tongue and nervously scratched her head as she dropped her earlier happy tone. "no..."
it's senior year, and for a bright student like jennie kim, she has more in her plate than the other average students. her last year in yg high is pretty much hectic than the last year. she pursued to give more time for her organizations and is working harder to finish her high school years with colors flying as high. beyond that, she's got college applications she's working on. many universities have already extended their offer to her, either it be in south korea or overseas, to have jennie as one of their prominent students in the upcoming school year. but stanford university won, for it's also jennie and her mom's dream university. so she gives extra time for her preparations and applied for an early orientation, which clearly didn't give her a sweat for who wouldn't accept an intelligent and promising student like jennie kim?
but with the first step of her road to success being on a straight path, she still has issues she's currently dealing. things she could leave behind, people she's afraid to leave behind.
and that makes jennie unsure.
"well, you're going to hear from them any day... so what now?" jisoo awoken her zoned out best friend.
jennie just took a deep breath and calmed herself, disregarding the question. but the persistent jisoo just wont stop.
"hello???" jisoo asked, widening her eyes trying to shake things off from her.
jennie just laughed, she knows jisoo is just concerned of her. "jisoo, these things take time."
and really, thank god her phone ringed to put the conversation on a long hold.
she fetched her phone from her bag and immediately answered, already knowing who is calling.
her happy smiles are now fully back and her voice lights up speaking on the phone. "hey!"
