. . . . .

"jennie my baby! welcome home!" my mom hugged me as soon as i got out from the car. i just arrived from a two-month vacation at my dad's place in new zealand.

yes, i am a product of a broken family but because i'm the only child, they showered me all the love they can give aside from the almost everyday ravishing gifts either coming from my dad or my mom and even some of my relatives. overall, i had a pretty normal childhood, i think.

for a seventeen year old spoiled brat, it's quite overwhelming to think that i almost have a perfect life, well almost.

i was entitled as the aspiring fashion enthusiast, one of the "it girls", the cheerleader, and the top student in our class. they say that the world finds it easier to excuse myself for throwing my life away since i came from a broken home. but i never once allowed myself to be one of the rebels. i make the most out of it and that's probably the reason why i'm always at the front page of our school's newspaper and student magazines, being an inspiration to my co-students or whatever they call it. honestly, i don't like the idea of what they made up for me to have the cleanest and the most scented name out there, they're just adding another pile of responsibilities to be maintained at my heavy and already-tired shoulders.

and here i am again, coming home means facing another school year, my final year and after this, gone with my perfect self and i'll soon be part of the audience instead of being the one standing in the spotlight.

. . . . .

"how's your trip jendeukie? are there any aussie hot boys you've met?" my bestfriend nayeon asked with a flirty tone and my eyes suddenly widened with her action.

"stop it nayeon, and no there's none. a bunch of assholes instead." we're already inside our room waiting for our math teacher.

"you're really hard to impress, aren't you?" she raised an eyebrow at me.

"no, i'm just taking my time. i don't want to get into a relationship just to say that i have one." i said in a serious tone.

"i got your point. that's actually the demarcation line between you and irene."

"what do you mean?"

"well, for some reasons your lives are quite alike, but she's a bitch." nayeon added with a sarcastic laugh.

we're already having a good talk about some random things and mostly about my vacation when a certain figure enter the room. she's wearing a black t-shirt imprinted with a white skull and two crossed bones like the ones at the pirates' flag matched with ripped jeans and almost ragged black chucks.

i was caught by her presence.

she look around probably searching for a vacant seat and for a good five seconds i thought she's looking directly at me which makes me feel uneasy and i don't even know why. but then her eyes landed at the back where there's a vacant slot.
