Anna (surprising, i know)
I walked along the road, pulling my scarf closer to my neck. The wind was picking up, making my tired bones shiver. Keeping tradition, I avoided all of the cracks, which i had been doing supersitiously since I was tiny. Opeing the door, I smiled at the quiet 'ring' of the bell, and sat myself down in a booth, which was already taken.
"Hey, thanks for coming. I know it was kinda random....." He just laughed, and crossed his legs in the manly way only guys do. You know, the ankle on leg, hands clasped position? Yeah, that.
"It's totally ok. I'm here for you." I gave him a small smile.
"I really appreciate it." He gave me an expecting look.
"So? What's going on?" I sighed and pulled my hands through my knotted hair.
"Antonio." He sighed in exasperation.
"Of course. That dickhead screwed up again didn't he?" I nodded, waiting for him to give me the advice he normally does.
"I think you need to move on. This is way too stressful for you. He doesn't deserve you, and you can do so much better. a relationship should be effortless." I thought about what he said, and mentally agreed. A boyfriend-girlfriend thing shouldn't take a lot of thought and time. If it was meant to be, it would've happened.
"And plus," he added "I know that there are other guys who have their eye on you anyway." I giggled, a blush slowly creeping onto my face.
"No way. I can't even believe that Antonio likes me....if he even did. I don't know who to trust anymore" He stayed silent, but looked nervous.
"What's wrong?" He stared into my eyes and I knew that I could trust him, but I wasn't sure if the feeling was mutual.
"Hey, you can tell me anything, you know that right?" He nodded.
"Yeah, but the thing is, I don't know if you would treat me the same after I told you." I shook my head, completley clueless to what he was talking about.
"Don't worry, it won't change our relationship." He smiled to himself, and whispered
"Yeah, it would."
"Tell me! Remeber, you've been here for me! It's my time to be there for you."
"Ok. Here goes." He took my hand in his across the table.
"Ilikeyou."
"What?" he scratched the back fo his head and tried again.
"I" breath, "like," another shallow breath, "you." I gaped at him.
"Wha---what?"
"i like you. A lot actually." Something turned in my stomach, and I could practically feel the butterflies coming out of my mouth and ears. Hoping what I was about to say, would straighten things out.
"I like you too." He grinned, and I could see every single tooth in his mouth.
"Seriously?"
"Seriously."
"So it's official?" I bit my lip, wondering if I should tease him.
"I wasn't aware you asked me anything?" He laughed loudly, you know, the kind of laugh that makes you want to laugh along.
"Anna I don't know your middle name or last name, will you be my girlfriend?" I nodded happily, knowing that he really did want to be with me. Of course, the waiter came up just at that moment. I'm not saying he was as attractive as my boyfriend, but he was some very nice eye candy.
