The Path To Her Heart

Chapter 6

"Mommy, who is that?"

I pull her closer to me still in the position I was ; Bended to Heather's height, I look up at him. My eyes meet his and his eyes are filled with hurt, and shock.

"Jason-" Ally starts.

"What is she doing here?" Jenna, Jason's mom asks with anger filled in her voice.

My eyes are no longer locked with Jay as his gaze slowly shifts to Heather who is looking at him. His features softens and he takes a step closer.

I wrap my arm protectively around Heather as he kneels down to Heather's height and looks straight into her eyes. I feel tears burning from the back of my eyes. I move backwards slowly, not being able to say anything. He must have gotten suspicious since her eyes looks exactly like his. Beautiful black-rimmed blue eyes.

His hand slowly reaches out for Heather's. She hesitates for a while and he smiles at her reassuring her that it's okay. She reaches out and lays her palm on his large hand. My heart breaks from the look of his face as his eyes become watery.

I've only seen Jay cry once in my entire life and the sight infront of my eyes is breaking me. He pulls her closer towards him.

"Hello sweetheart." He says softly. "What's your name." He asks.

"Heather." She says and I hear him slowly gasp. He shuts his eyes, letting a tear leave his eye. He looks at me.

"She's m-mine?" He asks knowing the answer. His tone has a mixture of hurt,pain and sadness.

I look down, slowly nodded, letting it all out, I sob softly. I look back up at him.

"Sweetheart, do you know your daddy?" He asks.

"Yea, I've never seen daddy before. Mommy says he's happy and we shouldn't disturb him, right Mommy?" She says, looking at me. I let my tears rush down my cheeks.

He gently pulls Heather closer to him and puts his hands on her cheek. "Heather, Do you know your daddy's name?" He asks.

"Mommy said his name is Jason." She says.

"Do you know who I am?" He asks and she shakes her head.

"My name is Jason Knight. I think you've found your daddy, sweatheart." He says and I'm just thinking about the way he is looking at her.

"Mommy, is he really my daddy?" Her eyes light up with a happiness i've never seen before.

"He is, Baby." I say with my voice laced with happiness for seeing her like this.

She turns to face Jay again, giggling then jumping into his arms as he carries and stands up from the position he was in.

"You are my daddy!" She giggles in happiness. I've never seen her this happy. He looks at the girl in his arms with love before looking slightly lower where the necklace he gave me hangs on her neck.

He immediatly faces me and I turn back to look at Ally, Kai and Jenna looking at whats going on.

"I need some air." I whisper, rushing out to the entrance of the hospital.

I sit down on one of the chairs rest my elbows against my thighs and cover my face with my palms. I start sobbing loudly, not knowing how things are gonna go. He's gonna want to take her costudy. I am happy. My Heather finally met her dad. He accepted her without no doubt. This is fair for her.

My kid is happy and thats what i've always wanted. Maybe she will be happier with Jay. She is safer with him. I need to let her go.

Even the thought of it scares me. I sob and take a breath. The memories of carrying her in my stomach, holding her in my arms after going through so much pain flashes through my mind.
I am the one who gave birth to her. I love her with all I have. I love her abd I need to be selfless to her. I need to let her be happy. Its hurts so much. Thinking about letting the girl I live for go.

"Liv." An arms touches my shoulder. I turn around to look at Kai. He sits next to me. "Liv, please calm down."

"She is gonna leave me soon, Kai." I sob.

"You are her mother, she wont let you go anytime soon. She loves you more than anything."

"I think she wont wanna let go of her father anytime soon." I laugh then sob. "You dont understand Kai. I've always been selfish when it comes to Heather. I think it's about time I think about the only way she would be happy. With her dad. She's always wanted to see her daddy so I couldn't deny it when he asked me."

I feel my heart ache. In the thought of not holding having her with me.

"But she is everything I live for, Kai. She is the one person I lived for that night after Jay sent me out."

"Look, I need my little sister to stay strong and please dont jump to conclusions. Both of you guys have to sit down and sort things out."He says, rubbing my back slowly.

"Let's go in." I wipe away my tears quickly making my way to the room. My hands shake as I open the door. Kai follows me from behind.

Ally is asleep and the baby is in the crib. I see Heather happily talking to Jenna as she sits on Jay's lap and he had a huge smile on his face while looking at her. Until he looked at me.

"Heather." I called softly. "Can you come with Mommy for a while?" I force a smile.

Her smile turns into a small frown. "Mommy, can I stay with daddy for a while more?" My heart breaks.

"We'll go see daddy later in the evening okay?" My voice cracks. I walk closer to her reaching out my hand. She instantly wraps her arms around Jay. I shut my eyes, looking down. She has already gotten close to him.

"Sweatheart, I promise we'll go see him later, please come with me now?" I force out a smile. Her smile widens when she turns to Jay from his lap and hugs him. He returns the hug after a while.

"Why dont I walk you to the car?" He asks her and her face becomes lit with happiness.

The walk to the car was awkward. Jay had Haether in his arms while I walked to the car. He placed her in the front seat and I stood behind him.

"Bye daddy." She says.

"Bye, Princess." He says and I smile through the pain as he calls her princess.

I move to walk to the driver's seat but I stopped when Jay calls me.

"Li- Olivia." Jay calls. Oh lord, he nearly called me Livy. I suck it all in and look at him.

"I'll have Lucas come pick both of you up."

"I can us-" My voice crocks out but stops when he cuts me off.

"Not even a word."

"Dont you dare tell me what to do." I say.

"Oli-" I cut him off.

"I am bringing her myself. I dont need your help." With that I get into the car and drive off.

You guys trust me this isnt fast cause the whole story was planned for Olivia to have a daughther that Jason never knew about. So we cant keep that away for too long right? Romantic parts wont start until a few more chapters.
