While Heather was in the shower, Jason and I walk out of the room for me to prepare breakfast.
"Jason, look. I am not okay with Heather staying at your place. Even if it's two days a week." I let out as he sits on the chair near the kitchen island.
He lets out a deep breath before fixing his messy bed hair. "Why not, Liv? I have missed enough of her life and I know that was my fault but I can't afford to miss more." He tries to convince me.
"I don't want you to, trust me. But I'm not ready to let her stay away from me. I just am very protective when it comes to Heather, Jason."
He gets up looking tired and he walks towards me. He rests hand arms on the table and looks directly into my eyes. His features softens. "I will never ever separate Heather from you. Do you trust me?"
Really. After accusing his pregnant wife of cheating and kicking her out, he decides to ask her that. I let out a chuckle. "Honestly Jason, no. I mean how am I supposed to ever trust you after everything you've put me through. I was warming up to the idea of letting Heather stay with you after seeing how close the both of you are in the begging but I was thinking last night, and honestly I can't trust you Jason. I really can't. I loved you with all of me but you didn't take a second to think before throwing me out of the house. I can't put that in the past. I'm sorry Jason but I don't trust you with Heather yet."
Seeing the pain in his eyes hurt me but he had to here that. I need him to earn my trust.
"I deserved that." He says softly. "I understand why you feel like that." He shuts his eyes knowing he can't do much. That's what I respect about Jason. He never pushes anyone using his power and wealth. At least the people he cared about.
"Hey, I am not stopping you from seeing her okay. But I have to be around. At least until you earn my trust." I say.
His eyes light up. "Thank you, Liv. I can't bare being away from my family anymore." My heart skips a beat when he refers to us as his family. He leans closer to me and whispers huskily , "I will earn your trust soon, I promise."
As much as his husky voice is a huge turn on, it takes a lot for me to just smile at him.

We changed our plans and head out for a movie. I was sitting between Heather and Jason during the movie. The tension between us was almost visible. We clearly had a lot to talk about other than our daughter. After the movie, we head to the mall as Jason decided to get things for Heather.
As we walk to the mall, with Heather holding Jason's hand and I walk beside Jason, I decide to break the tension between us. "Jason." I say and he looks at me. I offer him a smile. "This is what Heather has always craved for, quality time with her daddy."
He smiles and looks at her. "Hey, we need to talk about more things don't you think?" He says then chuckles. "Coffee tomorrow morning? I'll pick you guys up, we can have coffee after dropping Heather at school and then I'll drop you off at work."
"Sure. So you're finally not completely against me working in the restaurant." I laugh.
"Oh I am, Liv. I don't think I'll ever even think about warming up to the idea of you working there but I don't have a say in your life anymore. Not yet. I won't force you into anything, Olivia." He says leaving me in shock as we continue walking.
This is really unlike Jay but I know he has something planned cause otherwise he wouldn't be so calm about everything. My mind voice was literally arguing with everything he just said.
Of course, you still have a say in my life, Jay. You always will.
A part of me misses him more than anything. Hell, I still love this man. I was going to be patient and wait for him to prove himself.

The day passes by and Jason walks us up to my apartment. I open the door and he waits at the doorway. He bends down to Heather's height and hugs her tightly.
"Daddy stay." She mumbles sadly.
"I can't stay tonight princess. I'll see you tomorrow okay?" He says. I feel horrible because I know he wants to spend the night with his daughter. "I love you, my sweetheart." He says with a smile, placing a kiss on her forehead.
"I love you too, daddy." She kissed his cheek. "Good night." She smiles waving at him.
"Good night, princess." He says, letting go if her hand.
As Heather walks into my room, Jason faces me and he looks nervous for a second. He scratches his neck while looking at me. "I'll pick you up tomorrow morning?" He asks.
"That would be great." I smile. "You better get going before it gets late."
"Good night, Olivia." He says, tucking a lose strand of hair from my ponytail behind my ear which takes me by surprise. My heart races, feeling his touch on my skin.
"Good night, Jason. Drive safe." I say softly.
