A/N: Okay, read and enjoy!

Ally was a little. There wasn't much to argue about it when the test determination she got in the mail said so. And sure, she could have tried taking the test again, but she didn't mind. Being a little wasn't too bad.

Or, that's what she thought at first.

It'd been two years and she'd been through four different caretakers, all of whom deemed her 'too much work and too clingy'. Which that really upset Ally because it wasn't her fault she got sick a lot and just wanted to sleep and cuddle when she was. Wasn't that what a caretaker was for?

And, sure, maybe she wasn't the average skinny, blonde hair, blue eyed, average height person, but that didn't make her a terrible little. Did it?

Apparently so, since every caretaker she had decided they didn't want her and she had to keep going back to the Department of Little's Protection and Safety in order to find new caretakers.

And each time they did, the employees there seemed to be more and more disappointed that she returned.

But it wasn't her fault, why didn't they get that?

"Hey there, you alright, sweetheart?" a quiet, raspy voiced asked, breaking the tiny blonde from her thoughts.

Ally sniffled, now realizing she had been crying. "I-I 'kay," she mumbled shyly, not looking up at the mysterious stranger.

"Are you sure? You look a little upset." The stranger took a seat on the other side of the table Ally was sat at.

The smaller one shrugged, still refusing to look up. "No one want me," she admitted quietly.

Because it was true. She had been sent back so many times now, it seemed that statement was true.

She was too short, she wasn't skinny enough, and she didn't have the right blonde hair color or the blue eyes everybody seemed to want. She just wasn't wanted.

Ally didn't see it, but the stranger frowned, watching her inquisitively. "Why wouldn't anyone want a cutie like you?"

The small girl let out a shocked gasped. The stranger thought she was cute? No one had ever said that to her before. She hesitantly looked up, locking eyes with the greenest orbs she had ever seen staring back at her. "You-you mean t'at?" she questioned disbelievingly. She turned away and shook her head. "Nuh uh, you're lying."

The mysterious green eyed woman just shook her head. "I'm not. You're a little cutie," she repeated. "What's your name, sweetheart?"

The blonde looked the woman over, trying to find any hint of deceit. Finding none, she shyly answered, "Alwy."

"Ally? That's a pretty name. I'm Lauren, it's nice to meet you."

The smaller one blushed at the compliment and looked down. "Nice to mee' you, Ms. Lauren."

Lauren's phone beeped, and she pulled it out of her pocket, reading the screen quickly. She sighed, shoving it back into her pocket. "I'm sorry, sweetheart, but I have to go," she murmured reluctantly, giving the tiny blonde an apologetic look.

Ally's shoulders hunched a bit, and her upbeat demeanor quickly deflated. She didn't want Ms. Lauren to go. She would be lonely again, and she didn't like that.

Lauren noticed her shift in mood, and suggested, "Would it be alright if I came and visited you again soon?"

The smaller girl's head snapped up, not expecting that. "You wan' to?"
