Little Normani & Mama Lauren

A/N: Hi, hello, I wrote a quick little drabble. 

Also, Alren is a thing, but the main focus is on little Mani and mama Lauren.

Lauren grunted as something squeezed between her body and Ally.

"Shhh, Mama. Mommy's sleepin'."

Lauren opened one eye and peeked to the space between her and her wife. She breathed deeply and kept her eyes closed for a minute before she opened them again. "Normani, baby girl, why are you awake?"

The room was cast in darkness aside from the sliver of moonlight slipping through the window blinds, and Lauren could just make out the form of her baby in the faint light.

"Can't sleep, Mama."

"Well, do you think you can sleep now?"

Normani hummed softly. "No, Mama."

Lauren sighed and sat up, running a hand through her hair. She appreciated the honesty, at least. She turned to put her feet on the plush carpet floor, and then held a hand out to Normani. "Come on, love. Let's go to the living room and let Mommy sleep."

Normani took the woman's hand and crawled out of the bed. Lauren led her to the living and she pointed to the bookcase lined with DVD's.

"Go pick one out, baby girl. Nothing too scary, though, alright?" she instructed before she went to the kitchen to get a bottle of milk.

The last time they had a late night movie session, Normani had chosen The Jungle Book, and was scared by the character of Shere Khan. Normani hadn't been able to sleep on her own for three days, afraid that she would get eaten by a tiger in her sleep.

Lauren had to sleep in Normani's room to protect her, or face the wrath of wife. The former option seemed less terrifying than than the latter.

When she came back, Normani had the home screen of one her Blue's Clues DVDs loaded, and the girl sat on the floor in front of the recliner.

Lauren smiled softly and settled into the recliner after grabbing the blanket they kept on the couch. "Come on, baby girl."

Normani scrambled up and into Lauren's lap, clinging to her mama tightly.

Lauren smiled and covered them with the blanket, and then held the bottle up. "Does my little monkey want some milk?"

Normani snatched the bottle from Lauren's hands and then shifted into a better position to drink from her bottle and watch tv.

Lauren grimaced as Normani's weight caused discomfort, but finally the girl settled again in her lap. She reached for the remote and hit play all episodes, and sat back and began to slowly rock the recliner.

She was startled by her shoulder lightly being shaken, and she looked up at her wife as she recovered from the shock.

"Normani is in her bed," Ally explained quietly, her face lit up from the glow of the Blue's Clues menu screen. "I thought maybe you'd like to come back to ours and not have a sore neck in the morning?"

Lauren nodded and reached for the remote to turn the tv off then took her wife's hand and followed down the hall to their bedroom.

"Blue's Clues?" Ally asked amusedly as Lauren crawled under the blankets.

"I wasn't spending three nights in Mani's cramped bed again, no matter how much I love her."
