A/N: Did I really just bust out this completely fluffy work in an hour after posting a oneshot a few hours before? Yes, yes I did. Because really, who doesn't need more little Normani in their life?

Read and enjoy. :)

"Mama, can we get a kitten?" Normani asked as Lauren set a bowl of mac and cheese in front of her on the table.

Lauren smiled amusedly as she sat down across from the girl to eat her own lunch. "Mama needs to think about it, baby."

It wouldn't be a normal day if Normani didn't ask at least once a day if they could get a pet. Lauren found the constant questions to be amusing, if only for the fact that Normani's ideas for a pet changed every day. The day before it had been a turtle, and the week before Lauren was a little startled to hear the girl request they get a chinchilla.

"Maybe if you're good at bath time and don't put up a fight Mama will consider it."

Normani huffed around a bite of pasta. "You said tha' las' week, Mama."

"Mani, baby girl, swallow your food before speaking, please," Lauren chided gently. "Well, have you been good when it comes to bath time?"

The girl looked down thoughtfully, her head tilted to the side slightly, before she pouted and shook her head. "No, Mama," she answered quietly. "But, but I will be, promise!"

Lauren smiled warmly, reaching over to wipe the girl's face that was smeared with cheese sauce. "We'll see about that, sweet girl."

Normani scrunched her face and pulled away, brushing the woman's hands away. "I'll be good, Mama, just watch."

----------

Later that night, after the two had eaten dinner and Lauren had washed the dishes, the woman walked into the living room to find Normani lying on her stomach on the carpet, entranced by whatever was playing on the tv.

The girl looked up, grinning excitedly when she spotted Lauren. "Mama, look!" she exclaimed, pointing to the tv.

Lauren laughed when she saw Normani was watching Steven Universe for the fifth time. "Mani, sweets, you watch this almost every night," she replied, shaking her head. "And I know for a fact that you sneak out here to watch it after bedtime because I can hear you singing the theme song."

"Nuh uh. I'm sleeping like I'm s'posed to, Mama." Normani rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly, a tell tale sign she knew she'd been caught.

"Uh huh, sure you are." Lauren rolled her eyes and laughed. "Come on, baby girl, it's bath time."

"Noooo, Mama," Normani whined, huffing and lying her head in the carpet.

"Yes, baby," Lauren replied softly. "Remember what I said at lunch?"

Normani nodded, but didn't take her face out of the carpet. She mumbled something incoherent, and Lauren smiled amusedly.

"What did Mama say earlier today, baby?"

The girl groaned, but lifted her head to reply, "I have to be good and not fight at bath time if I want a kitten."

"Mama would consider getting a kitten, but yes." Lauren walked over and tickled the girl's sides, earning loud, startled squeals from Normani. "Are you going to be a good girl now?"

Normani laughed, trying to push the woman's hands away. "Yes, Mama, yes, stop, please," she begged, trying to catch her breath in between giggles.

Lauren stopped, deciding the girl had enough. "Alright, come on, sweet girl. Go pick out your pjs while I get the bath going."
