A/N: My brain seems to want to write lots of short little works at the moment.

Read and enjoy. :)

Lauren sat on the floor of the small apartment living room, playing with her stuffed dinosaurs and talking quietly to herself. She was happy Mommy dressed her in her t-rex onesie. It was one of her favorites, because it was blue and had green spikes on the back and on the hood. It was especially her favorite when she was wearing it and playing with her dinosaurs, because then she could be a dinosaur, too.

Mommy said she thought it was cute when she was a dinosaur, but Lauren always grumbled because she was a scary dinosaur, not a cute one. Pancake was the cute dinosaur. He might be a t-rex, but he wasn't scary at all since his favorite food was pancakes, which was how Lauren decided on his name.

Lauren looked up at the digital clock just beside the tv, seeing it was getting close to nap time. She looked between Pancake and Lulu, her purple triceratop stuffie. "Maybe Mommy forgot," she whispered to the toys.

Mommy wasn't in the living room yet. She could make a break for her room and keep playing if she was fast enough.

She grabbed Pancake and Lulu and stood, starting to run out of the room.

"Uh oh, I think there's a couple of dinosaurs trying to escape nap time."

Lauren froze and dropped her stuffies, turning around and putting her hood down. "Nuh uh. I'm not a dinosaur. I'm Lauren." She grinned as innocently as possible at the older woman.

Normani smiled amusedly. "I see. So I have a Lauren and two dinos trying to escape nap time."

"Don't want nap time, Mommy," Lauren whined, pouting and stomping her foot slightly.

She was a big girl, she didn't need a nap.

Normani sighed, knowing she would have a meltdown if she pushed the issue. However, she knew the girl needed a nap or she would have a grumpy little one on her hands for the rest of the day.

"Well, Mommy has been busy with work all morning and really missed her baby. Will you come cuddle with me on the couch at least?"

Normani could tell from how the younger one was watching her suspiciously that Lauren was trying to determine if the request was a trap.

Lauren thought over the question. She did miss her Mommy all morning, too. Playing with Pancake and Lulu was fun, but she really wanted Mommy cuddles. They were the best. And, she wouldn't fall asleep because she wasn't tired. Not at all.

Finally, the girl nodded. "Okay, Mommy," she agreed, deciding her Mommy wasn't trying to trick her.

Normani smiled, relieved she wouldn't have to put up an argument. "Will you go put Pancake and Lulu on your bed please, baby?"

Lauren nodded, grabbing the stuffies and running down the hall. She ran into her room, setting the dinosaurs on the bed against the pillows. She kissed each one and then ran back out to the living room, finding Mommy already sitting on the couch.

Normani held her arms up invitingly. "Come here, baby," she encouraged, and a few seconds later she was enveloping the younger girl in her arms.

Lauren snuggled into the older woman, tucking her head under Mommy's chin. She let out a long sigh, blinking slowly. Maybe she was tired, but she wasn't going to tell Mommy that.

Instead, she asked, "Mommy, how much do you love me?"

Mommy hummed, hugging Lauren tighter. "I love you more than I count on my fingers and toes, little one," she answered, pressing a kiss to the girl's head.

Lauren looked at her own fingers and toes. "You can use mine, Mommy," she suggested, holding a hand up to the woman's face.

Normani grabbed the girl's hand and gently kissed it. "Thank you, baby girl. Now, Mommy's tired. Do you think you can take a nap, too?"

Lauren frowned, thinking it over. She was kind of tired, and nap time with Mommy meant even more cuddles. "Yes, Mommy. I can take a nap, too."

Normani grinned, shifting so the two were stretched out across the couch. "Good girl, Laur," she replied quietly, already seeing the younger one's eye begin to droop closed.

Lauren decided playing with her dinosaurs was better than nap time, but nap time with Mommy was way better than playing with her dinosaurs.
